Hi all,

My name is Pakon. I am very new to Game Dev industry. I have been playing so many many games all my life. I'm a fan of big fantasy RPG universes and also creature collector universes too. I am looking to develop my own game or help other in a game jam in the near future.

I have been studying Unity and Godot platform for weeks (I can understand game logic and art direction but coding is not my thing, I will study more) for 2D or topdown games like Horde Survivor, Tower Defense, & Deck Building game in hope that it is something small to start with. I am  self-taught on how to make 2D sprite too.

So, if there is any nice game dev community or team I can join , please let me know. Since I am very new and useless here, all I can help is about game combat system design and balances and I can also name you a lot of thing the could happen in a fantasy or creature colletor universe like weapon/spell/modifiers....

TLDR; I just need somewhere or someone to help me start.

Hi all,

My name is Pakon. I am very new to Game Dev industry. I am looking to develop my own game or help other in the future. I like 2D more than 3D. I would like to get some opinions on which style of 2D art is better for your eyes between 2D Cartoon and Pixel Art. And which one is easier to make? I have some painting experiences and I am trying to learn 2D art and animation for games.

For 2D Cartoon Style, I considersomething like Cult of the Lamb/Oxygen not included
For Pixel Art, there are so many great artist e.g. Eastward/Sea of Stars

For pixel art, I think it is very good looking when you can make some light sources in a dark environment which I am studying how to make it :>

Please give me some of your opinion on the art style the you like and if you are an artist, please also give me some study material. Thank you so much.
