Thank you for the vid, tbh watching it I'm seeing some parts of the game are a bit unintuitive and while I've already addressed some of them, I'm seeing others that need to be taken care of before launching v 0.2.

As for the controls, kinda funny last night it hit me that there are two buttons, Shoot and Aim, but you can only shoot up and down anyways, so why not have the buttons shoot up and down instead, so I'm now implementing options to switch between them, so hopefully that'll help for those who prefer less clunky controls.

As for the javascripts being used, it's mostly Chrono Engine, Altimit Pixel Movement, Wolf Pad MZ, and several of Galv's javascripts, with a few custom tweaks in them.

If you return for v 0.2, I hope it'll address your criticisms, as it's main focus will be accessibility features like a less restrictive and optional tutorial, tools to better learn the enemy types, and content for those less into old arcade games.  Thank you for your time and insights.

That's fair.  I keep it at diagonal shooting as part of the challenge, as if you could shoot straight it trivializes everything since it lets you be far more certain of your shots regarding Diane and Father, and it forces you to focus on positioning.

I am considering sub weapons in CK 2 and 3 that do allow you to shoot straight however, as they'll have very different gameplay style that don't involve not hitting certain people.
