In certain situations the mage is worse but can be better if yused right. If you play the mage with the mirror on the first draw its double lowers the cost to 0. Free draw is awesome lol. Then you have the candle take a further energy off it is great in smaller decks. Use candle with mirror also is a great way to double value.

When you play a card with afterglow It generates a stack of afterglow depending on what the card says. At the end of each turn Afterglow you Gain Void tokens depending how many stacks you have 1 for 1. So 50 afterglow turns into 50 void tokens also I think you lose 1 unit per turn not stack so next turn you start with 49 I think?
It is actually one of the most useful in my opinion. It cost one but then takes itself out of the deck. With spirit I often pair it with mirror to take the leviathan from 4 to 2 or beholder for a one energy freebee after. With wild I target Broodmother and the beholder for consistency. Trident and glass chalice it is great for clearing the hand. empty hand means double points. It is a permanent -1 on any card. It shines in low cost decks as you cycle through your deck quickly. The minus one is basically the cost to lower an energy of another card. It literally pays for itself as it takes itself out of the deck then every time you use the targeted card it saves an energy. I use it in my wild deck to only have ten cards. When it leaves the deck is 9 then wanderer as a contestant draw plus energy+ and with messenger, Beholder, and Nekomata energy savor aspects I go through the deck many times in a trial. I am averaging 5k a trial.
Holy crap I wrote a lot
Love your game! The different ways to mix and match, upgrade, and different fields are great. I only have a few small points that annoy me lol. First is I wish you could mix and match the two decks. The amount of synergy with the afterglow cards you could have but are blocked. Second all trials have buffs I would like to beat them on debuffs like at the end of a turn my gain is halved, draw one less card each round, increased cost by one every 3 cards played, etc. Still great game and hope your game does well on steam. Already wished it.
I like the concept bro but even for an idle game it feels repetitive. I am not here to bash you though. You should try other idle games to see what can be added. A personal favorite of mine would be Cosmos Quest: The origin. Not many would remember it, but I think it is one of the best of all time. All the multiplayer stuff is offline, but the single idle portion is still going. It had two different games in one. A Idle game and a Hero game. There was a ton of mechanics so i won't go into it. Point is you need to diversify a little
