The interface is simple and fairly clear. However, I think enhancing the visual presentation would improve the overall impression of the game. It doesn't need flashy bells and whistles, but the UI lacks that sense of comfort and visual appeal, while it is solid and consistent, it feels a bit too stark and "desktop-like." The gameplay is enjoyable, though I feel the progression is too rapid, which might make longterm play less satisfying. The sound design is a major plu, subtle and atmospheric, yet it adds character and provides effective gameplay feedback. The mechanics are solid and clearly reflect a lot of hard work, but the various elements can become overwhelming after just a few dozen minutes of play. Perhaps a legend or a codex would help. You might also consider adding something like a red notification dot—for instance, on the achievements tab. Although this isn't typically my kind of game, my overall assessment is very positive.

Thank you very much for the feedback, it’s really nice to read that someone enjoyed playing Origin. It’s strange that you couldn't skip the dialogue, usually, when I click on the dialogue, the text finishes and the mission button appears, so I’m not sure why that didn’t work for you. I’ll have to look into it. Were you using a tablet? The layout stretches on such a large screen, which spoils the overall visual experience. I designed the game specifically for smartphone screens, and it looks best on a smaller display.

On the plus side, the concept of fighting infections within the body and treating the patient is interesting. The game is stable, clear, and, I’d say, solid. However, it lacks depth. While it is a simple type of game, the inclusion of modifiers, item based upgrades, missions, or achievements would boost its replay ability. The gameplay is enjoyable, but it quickly becomes monotonous.

Thank you very much for your time and your review. It means a lot to me. I agree with your opinion and am glad that the game has generally been well received. I haven't had much feedback on the game, so this is the first comment of its kind.

I am fully aware that one of the biggest issues, both when sharing material on social media and when looking at the game myself, is that the graphics are too generic. They lack a distinctive style and identity. I knew this from the start, and it was the biggest hurdle to overcome. AI made it possible to clear that hurdle, but it did so in its own style rather than mine. In fact, AI cleared the hurdle for me, and personally, I am not happy about that, let alone satisfied. Overall, I am pleased with the game and the gameplay, but I feel that if the graphics were original (even if they were simple or of lower quality), the game would be better received, because people can tell when something is handmade. Unfortunately, I am currently unable to clear that hurdle on my own, and I don't know if I ever will be, which is why I took a shortcut. I simply lack both the time and the skills to handle the graphics myself.

Honestly, I hope my critical comment serve as helpful feedback. I played for a bit, but unfortunately, nothing kept me engaged for long. The reason is that it’s hard to grasp how the game actually works. I certainly understand that there’s combat, rewards, and powerup, and that I’m unlocking things, but the whole experience feels chaotic or simply unclear. It lacks a proper introduction and an explanation of how to play.

After more than a year of development, I'm finally releasing the first playable demo of Origin.

Origin is a timing based Action RPG focused on precise combat, weapon mastery, equipment and exploration.

 WHAT'S IN THE DEMO

• Timing based 1v1 combat

• Perfect blocks and counterattacks

• Different weapon combat styles

• Active and passive abilities

• Stamina and defensive mechanics

• Equipment with combat affixes

• Loot and character progression

• Combat mastery progression

• Exploration of the first region of Rivenfell

THE CORE IDEA

Instead of relying only on stats and button mashing, Origin puts timing at the center of combat. Reading enemy attacks, blocking at the right moment and creating opportunities for counterattacks are an important part of the combat system.

Equipment also plays a significant role in shaping your combat identity, with different bonuses and combat affixes allowing you to build around different approaches.

CURRENT BUILD

This is an early playable demo and the game is still actively being developed. Some visuals, sounds, skills and other systems are incomplete or subject to change.

Audio is currently experimental. Most system sounds are implemented, while combat audio is less complete, many skills still lack dedicated sound effects, and there is currently no music.

The demo is available for Android.

I'd love to hear what you think, especially about the combat, timing mechanics and overall feel of the game.
