bad time to keep throwing spitballs at you but I had this idea that a certain level in each campaign would have a hidden/out of the way side path that would blackscreen you to the shack of one of the other 2 NPCs that you didnt make a deal with per not playing that character. You'd find em with the door blown in and they'd be on deaths door and you could either sacrifice (or eat) them for a small permanent stat boost, or just listen to their last words in piece. Sumn like "I'll be damned, you do answer prayers, just your luck that someone beat you to the punch... blehhhh..."
Personally I'll be posted up like this turning Hek into goblingooly for +2 health on my 97 hp 3 ton shithouse

So I just gotta know, between when you announced that work would resume and the update, how much of the content intended for the update was made before the hiatus and how much after. Because unless the upfront coding of things like combat, terrain assets, etc, represented a disproportionate amount of dev time to where level and sprite design would be a much smoother slope. a pace of an entire section per month is kind of ridiculous for one guy with a day job so I was wondering how "ground up" this update was and if it represented an update schedule. It's no skin off my back when I mean it'll be out when it's out but I like pestering devs on the backend stuff I'm like the orc who was arguing with Saruman about production output.
Decided to look back at the ref sheet for beel and I didnt notice that it said "preemtively enchanted to grow alongside the ballooning queen" does that mean that she had a similar build to our girls and that they will generally be proportionally similar to her? or is it a case by case body type thing?
but more seriously, the game has an established theme of the established opting for safe, low effort returns (beleth to the mortal world/the human kingdoms to althare) losing out against desperate stragglers who have no choice but to put everything on green (roulette odds arent exactly 50/50). So I think it would be an interesting metaphor if beleth expects to absolutely tower over you and make you feel even more insignificant and stupid for running with her sad little wine gut and slightly tighter bra having her jaw hit the floor for a split second when she sees you wheel your lard ass in.
oh right I forgot, so did you say that beleths is operating out of beel's throne room and territory after the conquest or is the imp delivering the news of her victory to beleth who hasnt left her tower once? actually stupid question how would beleth just be hearing about her victory from her enemies' throne room. Anyways, my question then is; do you fight beleth at the tower from the prologue or has she fully moved into beel's castle and we should expect a dungeon level about the size of any of the levels from this demo or are we essentially rocking up to hell and storming her throne room right then and there immediately from the front gate? as cool as it would be to finish the game in the same room as it began, I kinda hope we get the buildup of an entire prince of Hells' dominion before the boss fight. Might be nice to see beleth in a bigger chair too bc she already isnt a thin lady and wine is NOT diet friendly. I think we'd all like to see beleth enjoy the priveledges of station a bit ;)
true, the island is a known hotbed for all sorts of monsters and dark worship, best not to get stuck in long insurgecy campaigns or give these groups access to the mainland by way of stow awaying. On another note, I was file diving again to see what I could find and all the bath pngs are labled base and it made me realize WAY too late that the girls are still gonna need to heal even when bathing on their own gets a little... inconvenient. Kudos to the lucky imp that gets to scrub chubbed up gremory.
I have to ask what feels like kinda an obvious question now that I think about it. Is the goal to conquer ALL of althare in what I can only assume is 7 zones (seven sins seven stages each) then fight beleth right after? If I'm getting the lore right, the island is a pretty small province of a larger kingdom, and I guess it just feels kind of weird to think about one single demon taking over a single unimpressive landmass then dethroning a ruler of hell. Since at least the academy and goblin bane seem to have religious motivations, it seems a little foreshadowed that you would get your final stage by sacking their main center of worship and corrupting it.
I still watch that video every once and a while its just sooo funny. But obviously proportions are gonna change over the course of the game, do you have the next outfits sort of figured out or is it pretty much torn rags/upsized base gear. anything is fine but wardrobes that match the summoner would be pretty nice. like if gremory was trying to make spare academy robes last as long as possible (not very well) or marchosias was stuck with increasingly mortifying goblin tatters, it definitely beats designing unique finery for each character for each route. Lastly, I remember I asked you before sweet dreams came out if one of the possible endings for beleth is to make her obscenely fat and use her as a throne under your new reign. After sweet dreams I feel like thats definitely more likely to be implemented but I wont ask you to say anything for sure.
on the topic of Hek, I was wondering if the green skin and red hair had any connection to beelzebub. Given how goblins are typically known to have absolutely horrendous feeding habits with fat goblins like grom the paunch being one of the signature jokes of the species in general, I didnt know if that was an intentional design overlap. But when I saw goblin bane for the first time I was like IS THAT THE GRIM REAPER. that show is soo fucking good.

this stupid ass real is the only thing I can think of when that goblin talks.
the early access patreon release is fully functional for some reason. If I had to guess, the full release is interfering with files on personal drives from earlier versions while the early access isnt registered within. that would explain why the broken full version saved progress from earlier builds on a fresh download while the early doesnt. I dont know anybody who didnt download an original build THEN the most recent one to test the hypothesis.
Its beyond me to pointlessly extend the dev cycle, but I was thinking that it would be really nice to have a spot next to the mercenary hiring brazier where interacting with it would show you a vista of nature with the zone objective in the background. like with gremory if there was a spot right outside the door where you could see the treetops and the ruined castle poking above the top. Or with Vepar where you could see the orange sun hanging low over the hazy bog fog with the coven camp tucked in the coastline. I know background art is annoying but a sense of scale and buildup before you go there that you can just revisit and take in before your next attempt would make me really happy. If I can beleaguer the point, what if after that Herzog penguin-esque imp jumps in the lava you could take its place and see a sickly dull sun with worms darting in and out its corona like solar flares as its sickly sores ooze lava and larvae into the ocean basin like fuckin dark souls 3. No obligation to do this but every level im going to mentally implant scenery viewing spots in against your will.
I was aware of icons ability I was weary to use her because I’d been taking 17 damage opening rounds from mold and missile that I just assumed a bad opening would be an instant wipe. If I were to make one suggestion, I would give her a higher crit chance because she’s a barely mobile old bag of shit who isn’t very defensively oriented apart from spamming heal. So instead of doing like 5-6 damage with Gremory while sacrificing damage turns to give icon her MP while also being obligated to loose turns on gremory’s MP, just give her a near garaunteee crit after you outplay her in the actual portion of the fight so you can send that bat straight to hell in the same business day. Or at her midway point you could have her pull out another student or some nuisance mob since you’re already going to have burnt like 2 minutes farming your health and MP back for a next wave that just never came. The fight was both really stressful but also unbelievably anticlimactic. Gremory is a really solid route from all the lore though, big ups.
just for the public record you're supposed to fight selene with the iconoclast to spam mana potions on to keep the mold off and chip her down over the course of at least 10 minutes the fight is so tedious you either whack her to death or keep using MP regain to try to parlay an inferno crit on her before the sun dies out. Goodness gracious the coven witch is a peak fight tho more of that.
Ok wall of mold is genuine actual horseshit ive started tries with an apprentice one tap and a high rolling bandit sweep then i take 5 from mold then pelted with magic missile and get clapped in one goddamn turn. Thats a perfect opening ruined by horseshit max output which it hits like every time. The placement of chests in front encourages grinding for money to pay mercs and healing drops which get completely cancelled out by costing a turn and you guessed it WALL OF MOLD. The game both wants you to grind for items you cant use but also savescum to save TP which is cancelled out by, you guessed it, WALL OF MOLD. set the max output to 3 the Lord is begging you.
Not to be too ruthless because I do really love the game but I'll walk you through my run:
"ok saving my mana against the mosquitoes for the elves was a bad idea, I got 2 healing potions from this chest last run so-"
"empty"
"ok its probably gonna be a single frog guarding this chest maybe I can hit my parlay-"
*2 mosquitoes and a frog*
"ok"
oh yeah idk if youve decided on what to do for greed but I was wondering if you've considered gyaru/model aesthetic for vanity points. If you have a morale system in the game like if youre on a loosing streak combat wise then human enemies are less likely to flee (pokemon style) and more likely on a hot streak. Or if the muscle route give intimidation that reduces morale and makes the last enemy standing more likely to capitulate. Anyways, I was wondering if the greed route have any ability to bribe enemy factions into turning a blind eye or even buying human sacrifices as a kind of aside to morale.
I think I’ve said this before but I really appreciate how can do really quippy and catty dialogue a bar above the rest around here. I don’t know if they made you in a lab or if you just kinda said fuck it with the writing because the game ain’t getting a console port in a million years anyways. I really hate how a lot of games nowadays think that if you’re 18+ you’re either my step sister is a futa, doom, or blazing saddles. Games with hot chicks can be funny too. It doesn’t subtract from either one just go crazy. Anyways time for me to get off my soapbox.
if you don’t think that continuing the project is in your best interests we fully understand. I just wanted to say it was incredibly nice of you to showcase what you had on valentines come hello or high water. And it was peak. That fire is in you and it’s not going anywhere if you do something else with it. Also your agartha passport has been approved
