Vanity of Vanities is an upcoming hybrid Visual Novel / Point-and-Click project currently in development. We are building a dedicated Mini Writers Room to craft a narrative that is gothic, melancholic, and deeply psychological.

The project draws inspiration from titles like The House in Fata Morgana, Fear & Hunger, and NieR: Automata.

The World

Humanity is trapped within a colossal Castle adrift in the Void. While the inhabitants are immortal, this "blessing" has stripped them of purpose and emotion. Unknown to the masses, they are being farmed by cosmic entities feeding on their vital essence through the "Tree of Eden."

The Story: Sevastian, a 16-year-old clockwork maintenance apprentice, discovers a bloodied hair tie belonging to his missing friend, Anya. He realizes the "Ascension" to the upper floors is a lie, and must now climb the biomechanical spire to save her.

Open Roles

We are looking for three specific profiles to join our collaborative Discord-based workflow:

- Script & Dialogue Writer: Responsible for drafting scene-to-scene dialogue and character actions. You must excel at natural-sounding conversations while strictly adhering to established narrative rules.

- Narrative Designer & World-builder: Focuses on internal documentation, lore expansion, and designing the logic/narrative flow of puzzles in collaboration with the Lead Narrative Designer.

- Lead Editor & Continuity Manager: The "final eye." You will refine all written parts to ensure a seamless "single voice" across chapters, checking for tonal consistency, pacing, and analytical depth.

Workflow & Pipeline

We operate with a structured, ritualistic rhythm to ensure quality:

 - Writers Room: Brainstorming \rightarrow Concept Analysis \rightarrow Narrative Beats \rightarrow Scripting \rightarrow Editorial Review.

 - General Production: Director’s Brief \rightarrow Script Finalization \rightarrow PM Review \rightarrow Asset Creation (BG/Sprite/UI) \rightarrow Implementation \rightarrow Polishing.

Requirements & Compensation

- Portfolio: Candidates must provide at least one completed (or near-finished) writing sample.

 - Tone: Ability to write dark, existential, and "Grime Gothic" themes.

 - Payment: This is a Revenue Share (Rev-Share) project. Profits will be distributed among the team based on a transparent point system once the game is launched.
