Sorry for the late reply but this is the console (when the black screen appeared):

the AbortError was in red and linked to: https://developer.chrome.com/blog/play-request-was-interrupted

When I ran the Web version in chrome the iframe turned black but downloading worked.

Clever levels but the I couldn't get past the second level with the monster that chases you. Probably my poor reactions. Everything with the style and dialog felt very polished as well.

It was a bit too easy to click randomly and find everything but the art and music were very nice.

Very nice art, the way it seemed to swap between multiple plots like helping the kingdom and children learning to fight was interesting. The ending seemed sad but I don't know if I was interpreting it right?

I liked the quirky art style, Fun idea where you set how your own progression works.
Small issue: I didn't realise you could shoot rocks to get through them and got stuck on one of the levels.

This looks like it could have been a cool game. And building your own engine is impressive (I often fall into the trap of customizing and building from the ground up as well, though I always start with a basic framework).

A very interesting take on the theme, it was surprisingly fun to try and match the rules for a few cases.

Minor issue: I found it a bit hard to navigate around the level (I didn't realise you needed to select one rule from each book for some reason), and jumping back to the home screen was a bit odd.

The game looks good and the sound effects were nice, but when I got the controls worked out it became too easy. Impressive that you made it in Scratch though.

Small detail: there seemed to be blobs stuck in the corners of my screen which looked a bit odd.

Fun game and graphics, interesting style of gameplay but very satisfying once I got the hang of it.

Small issue: I didn't realise E was was dash and got stuck at the bottom of the level until I went back and read the description.

Nice game I liked the style and music, It was also fun trying to stay in the right position not to die and be able to see diamonds/triangles in time.

A few small problems: it wasn't obvious to me that the colourful shapes were meant to be avoided and that quit would freeze the screen.

All the effects were cool but the gameplay felt a bit limited. Overall a nice entry.

The controls felt satisfying and the difficulty was well thought out. I only got to stage 6 though?

Pretty fun game loop (but it eventually got a bit repetitive). Good first game though!

The game looks interesting with its hand drawn style but it ended very fast.

Surprisingly fun, I liked the hand drawn style.

I did a game jam before but this is my first one that looks somewhat professional.

Took me a while to get the idea but a fun progression system, the balancing was very good.

(Small issue the moving background was very distracting for me)

A very simple game but fun to play.

A very cool game and I liked the art style and music (couldn't get past the "You are getting there, put your skills to the test" part but that is probably my poor platforming skills)

(1 edit)

Thanks, Maybe I'll make more levels after the jam.

The idea was cool and the gameplay was surprisingly fun after I got used to it, but it was a little hard to get into, for example I didn't realise a small window wouldn't work (I can't read Vietnamese), and people seemed to be following the boat randomly? This is a jam so some bugs are expected though.

The game looks cool but I'm not sure I get the point. Is seeing how many dots you can collect it?

Short but very fun, I especially enjoyed the self-referential humour. It took a while to figure out how to use ghost freezing mechanic but overall fun puzzles.

Thanks, for the compliments,

(Also, you can change the SFX in settings)

Overall a fun game and an interesting mechanic, also the art style looked really cohesive.
Minor nit-picking: some of the design choices like having a long gap be the first puzzle felt a bit odd, and when the I died I didn't see the character reappear.

Just wondering did anyone have problems like:

  • not being able to see where the main character is?
  • not knowing how to full screen or change volume ratio?
  • preferring the game to be contained in the page instead of filling the screen?

Can't work out how to get through the one where the eye is in the cave and the target is on the other side?

How every few levels introduced a new concept was very cool, I eventually got stuck though.

It was a bit confusing for me to see extra blocks left over after I finished the level, was that so that people would experiment?

(1 edit)

A complement. I played it for 10 minutes trying to get a better score so your game got me interested.

It took a while for me to get used to but definitely the most interesting mechanic so far. The art style was also very nice.

Once there was a cloud on the bottom of the grid and I got stuck on it?

I wanted the player to explore the level, but allowing the player to look ahead might have made more sense I think.

I only caught 1 chicken but I like the art style.

This is somehow the most infuriating game I've played so far (I think that made the calming music work).

Very satisfying to play even though it was a bit fiddly (that could just be my poor reactions).

I found the game a bit simple but it's surprisingly satisfying watching the knight climb. After about 10 floors the jumps get too high though.

The idea to move around blocks of code was interesting (even though the answers were a bit obvious, this is a good execution). I also found it a bit difficult to select and move blocks with the U/S/Space system.

(1 edit)

It got a bit repetitive (though that might just be the way I was playing), but an interesting concept. Really liked the audio and sfx.

I didn't really understand what all the different tiles did at the start, but a cool concept, I found the way you can "level up" with tiles but need to plan ahead for where you can put later tiles interesting. For some reason tiles disappeared when I was trying to drag them, also in the second level I got a bunch of purple tiles the first few times I clicked the blue button.

(Edit: sorry, I didn't realize you could use A/D)

This is my first GMTK game,

I reused a lot of code from one of my other games but I changed a lot and didn't prepare anything. Also, the other game is only has navigation working.

This is also my first game where it looks like I have a vague idea of what I'm doing.
