Thanks for hosting! I'm looking forward to participating in the next round with my newest project. Keep up the good work!
Thanks to everyone for being a part of this great event :)
Hey,
thanks a lot for trying out my game and streaming it. It was really nice to see you playing the game because I got a lot of insight this way. Actually I think you are one of the people who are close to actually understanding my game's idea, although I am not transporting it very well in this very early version.
You realized that it is inspired by Dark Soul. This is not only about losing all your star dust when you die (except what you already invested for training/leveling up) but also about learning the whole game and developing just 'gaming skill'. Like the 'slippery' movement, you get used to it over time (and also can improve it A LOT by leveling up the corresponding attribute). As I mentioned I guess I should focus more on the onboarding progress so players realize they don't play a bullet hell shmup.
Just some things to add to your video:
- The red enemies were the nemesis enemy because you died nearby and it got all your lost star dust. When you killed it, you got most of it back. Since the UI isn't very elaborate, yet I think you couldn't really see what happened.
- Repairing is to keep the star dust instead of losing it very soon again. It comes at a cost though. Maybe repairing isn't the right mechanic to keep.
And last but not least: I really like your streaming style and you did very good with the German at the end :D
As I said, this is a very early version of the game with not much balancing, yet. Therefor your feedback means a lot to me and really helps on improving further versions.
Thank you!
Hey,
I love how the game looks - although I instantly removed the post-processing effect but I do that in any game that uses it. Your game is an interesting combination of game mechanics that I haven't seen before. Good job!
Played quite some time and had some runs. It is fun to try to improve on score and get a better highscore than before. There were two things I didn't like though (nothing too bad, but still):
1. The "read this before playing" wasn't shown correctly on my 3440x1440 screen. The background was shown just fine but the textboxes where placed weirdly and I couldn't read everything. Besides I think you have to read TOO much before you could start the game. I'd rather directy hop in and play some kind of super tiny tutorial level instead of reading 4-5 different options in an explanation menu.
2. The "wall of death" does a sound when it eats up blocks. I think this sound should only be hearable when the wall is on screen or at least VERY close. I could hear it the whole time and that was a little annoying.
Wish you all the best with your game!
Hey there,
thanks for trying out my game and giving this feedback. It helps me a lot!
"Challenging" is exactly what I had in mind with this game but considering the feedback I receive it is probably a bit too challenging right now and not rewarding enough. I will make lots of balancing tweaks to make the game more fun to everone (not just the dev himself :D).
Still great to hear that you played it for a while!
Thank you!
Hey,
thanks for your elaborate feedback. I know the game was hard but you are the first to tell me that it is SO hard :D It actually is supposed to be like that but I think I need to make it a bit more beginner friendy so that first upgrades come sooner and the gameplay loop feels more rewarding.
I'll also check what is wrong with that technical issue you had with window/fullscreen.
Yo feedback is extremely valuable to me, so thanks a lot! Please send me the link to your video :)
Hey there,
first of all: I am not really into physic based games but I wanted to try out your game :)
I tried it but I actually don't get it. I've died a couple dozen times and couldn't figure out what to do and how to not die within seconds. Neither in casual nor in normal mode I could see a mission.
Maybe it would help lost players like me to have a little (optional) introduction where you show how to basically handle the spaceship to get from A to B without wrecking into the surface or exploding from heat.
Wish you all the best for your project!
Hey there,
thank you so much for trying out my demo and giving me this elaborate feedback. This means a lot to me!
The game indeed is a bit unforgiving now. It was designed to create something like a souls-like experience and the game will stay hard. BUT you are definitely right, that the start may be just too hard and some people may lose motivation to fight through it.
I'll consider your feedback and improve further versions.
Thank you! <3
