Currently this doesnt feel great to play. When you jump it stops forward movement which makes it hard to get through gaps without hitting red blocks.

Consider how Mario works and why that feels good to play.

This is also a great learning resource for platformers https://gmtk.itch.io/platformer-toolkit

Fun idea but some things that could improve it:

  • Player controlled camera, as its hard to see whats coming when moving down screen
  • Some sort of story or visual theme. Could it have mimicked an old wooden marble run machine?
  • Maybe a limit on the player speed or amount of force that could be added to the ball
  • Checkpoints!

Hey thanks for the great feedback! Its really appreciated.
I will give your links a look and try to provide some feedback

I have a very small amount of experience with godot, but im only really comfortable in unity

Too long lol. About 9 months altogether of fitting in time around work and on the weekends.
Im also fairly new to programming, about 2 years of serious focus but all self taught, so learning as i go.

Looking to work on some smaller, one screen experiences next. Things i can get done in a couple months hopefully!

Hi!

I just released my game Parry Perry. You play as Perry of course! A cute, pink spikey 2 dimensional charmer.

You can roll around, jump and parry. To destroy enemies you must time your parries correctly with their attacks.
Part one is available now which includes a handful of levels and a boss.

Heres a link to the page and a quick trailer below! Would love some more people to give it a try x

Fun mechanic, really enjoyed it!
Lots of potential here

Great idea with compact replayability!
