That's definitely the issue I've been having. Its fun and unique, but the amount of girls and thus, stuff to focus on is insanely difficult. The boss level really suffers from this because, as mentioned, the corruption meter gets filled halfway, and when you have goons outside your doors, you have to destroy them with the ping ability, which further fills the corruption meter. If the goons weren't there it'd likely feel somewhat better, but even then, the mechanics of some of the girls in all the levels forces you to focus on one thing, and depending on your RNG, you could end up being attacked from all three doors by other girls and end up dying because your busy trying to deal with corruption or something else. It boils down to being a heavily stressful mode all around, and if RNG is bad, you end up dying and losing a lot of progress. Hell, I think making the boss level have checkpoints at the hours Cheshire Cat Sammy jumpscares the player in the office of the Arcade would definitely help a slight bit. Obviously if you exit the level or close the game you'd have to start over, but it would make the Boss Level at least a little better, since I can get close to the ending hour of ten, but end up getting rushed by multiple characters and dying because I didn't look at Nile or I didn't close the door on Sammy or I didn't get rid of the goons, etc.

After finally beating Night Five and making it to the boss level, my critiques remain. Like, I have finally figured out how to do most of the girls, but the amount just feels insane for any night.
I thought night five was bad, and even though it was, the Boss Level feels worse, since you get pulled out of the cameras whenever Cheshire Cat Sammy, which is what I'm calling her, jumps out of the screen in the office, and you need to parry. Now that's not hard, but that causes issues when Sammy Goons are either at one, two or ALL three of the doors, since you can't close them out, you need to click on them with the ping. But that fills up the corruption meter, and if that goes full you then have to focus on trying to find either the eye bird thing or destroy all the tentacles. It isn't helped that the doors stop working if the tentacles appear, so any threats you need to keep out via the door, like Security Poppi or Security Sammy, can just insta-kill you. I feel like an indicator for where the tentacles or where the eye bird is would make it far more enjoyable to do any of the nights or even the boss level, because you can't waste time going through EVERY camera just to end up dying to a threat anyways because you can't close the door or because you're too busy looking through the cameras to fix the corruption meter thing. And to top all of that, the fact you start with the corruption meter halfway whenever the Boss Level starts makes it even more unfun to play, especially if you get bad RNG.
I need to stress this, I do think the Arcade is a unique concept, and it can be fun, but the difficulty will definitely push a few players away or even discourage them from trying to 100% Arcade, due to the fact that the difficulty spike compared to previous levels is far more insane.
I don't dislike the challenge Arcade provides, as the previous nights in the arcade were fun, but night five continues to be very unfun. I don't wanna sound like I'm whining, I think this is a good update and it is fun. The earlier modes, like Security Office and Nightclub had a bit of challenge to them, but they weren't heavily RNG-based. Arcade on the other hand seems to be entirely RNG-based, unless I'm just bad, which is probably the main thing holding me back. It seems that the only way to counter Security Nile is to use the nuke in the arcade, but that heavily fills the corruption meter, and that doesn't seem like the actual solution.
I don't know if the game requires me to use the ping mechanic the more the nights go on, as I managed to get to night five of the Arcade by barely using that ability. Again, I think Arcade provides a decent challenge, but I'm more of a casual gamer, and the Arcade mode is definitely not casual-friendly. I don't want to use the Unlock All feature solely to "beat" the Arcade mode, I like a bit of a challenge, but again, this is very difficult. I don't know if anyone else has suffered as I have, I'm sure people have already 100%ed Arcade mode, so I just have to admit that I'm probably not that good at this mode, since I am very bad at multi-tasking, and Arcade definitely seems to make you focus on multiple things at once.
Apologies for the long rant and multiple repeats in my sentences. I just wanna end this by saying I do think this is a good update, and I do think Arcade mode was a good addition, it is fun despite my gripes and issues with what is likely just a skill issue on my end. I'm sure my complaints and complaints from other players will be addressed in patches/hotfixes that reduce the difficulty of the Arcade mode.
I think this game is really fun for the little bit we can play in v1.01, and it makes me excited for any future updates that adds to the existing gameplay. The game has a unique premise and also the retro style is really cool. Good luck on the next update, and I am excited for whenever it comes out.
Thanks to the Nightclub bugs being fixed and making it so the Arcade mode is finally playable, so far I find it fun and challenging.
However, my one critique is that the tips are worded... weirdly. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but Security Nile is very confusing to me due to the fact that the description/tips aren't clear. If she gets to the office, is she an insta-kill or is there something I'm missing to stop her from reaching the office? Aside from her, I haven't had much difficulty with the other characters.
EDIT: Like it says that I have to let her in, and I do that, and she kills me. If I don't let her in, she kills me, so that's what's got me confused. I have been stuck on night five because of me not understanding her, and its been infuriating trying to trial and error the night, because nothing I do works. I don't even think I've managed to get past hour 1 in a single attempt of night five so far due to RNG. Its fun, and I like a bit of a challenge, but Arcade feels a bit too difficult currently.
The issue I had with the game freezing after the first phase of the fight was fixed, however it appears that I also have the same issue now, where after the cutscene I get a black screen and music plays, like you. The best option is to just wait for another hotfix to be released.
Bugs like this are to be expected when a game has a major update though, I'm sure the developers will release another hotfix to fix the issue soon, so I'm just gonna wait for it. The Nightclub boss fight isn't that challenging so I don't mind having to replay it whenever it bugs out like this.
I went ahead and decided to do the nightclub boss fight since I never beat it in the update prior to the arcade early access update, so I don't know if this is a bug with the update, but whenever I beat the nightclub boss fight in the current update, it freezes here. The game still runs and the characters are still moving, but the game doesn't send me back to the menu or show me a cutscene or whatever is supposed to happen once you beat the boss night.
I don't know if this is a bug with the update or my computer or something, but I figured I'd just share this here.
This is also on the steam version of In Heat and the platform is windows.
Oh, no, I was playing on 0.18 when that problem happened, but if the issue is resolved in the 0.19 patch than that's great.
Otherwise, I think the controls are confusing to me due to the fact this game has a different gameplay style than Succubus Hunt, which isn't a bad thing when I say that, but that's probably why I got confused when I first played the game on 0.18.
From what I've played, this game looks promising. I loved Succubus Hunt for its gameplay, but I'm sure many have said this, but the default keybinds are kind of confusing.
It also doesn't help that when I tried rebinding them, I accidentally fat-fingered a key on my keyboard that I had set as the return button as I was changing the select button, so I couldn't select the options to change the button or even load a save game as the key kept returning me to the menu while also working as the select button. It wasn't unplayable as I could still start a new game, open the gallery, etc.
I just think, unless I didn't see the option, there should be a button on the menu to reset options to default just in case someone makes a similiar mistake to mine.
Still a fun and good game despite that hiccup, I'm excited for what the future holds for it.
