I have just released a free demo for my game which has just that and am looking for some player feedback:

• Standard fps mechanics: shoot enemies, pickup ammo/powerups, interact with some objects.
• Light dialog system for some optional flavour text and worldbuilding.
• Hidden secret areas that say "SECRET FOUND" when you enter them! :o
• Multiple paths available to clear and complete the level.
• VHS aesthetic with all the distortion, chroma abberation and grainy noise that you could need for maximum nostalgia.
• Custom handcrafted c++/opengl game engine.
