No, you use the application on PC. The .pck is file used alongside the binary (.exe on Windows, .AppImage on Linux or .app on macOS)

You seen to be thinking about automatic setup, next major release will be compatible with Nintendo Switch Online accounts, but I can’t really tell how long before support for Wii U (and 3DS) is implemented, as there have been no info or documentation about a public Pretendo Network API so far.

Are you trying to compile the source code? In that case you put it in the same directory as export template, the instructions are on my GitHub.

Added. For future requests I would recommend that you use the form linked in the description of the page, that’s the only way I can guarantee they will be read.

I normally update it in batch when people request for the games they want to be added via the form or when a pull request is submitted. There wasn’t be any requests since the last update I made to the database.

This app doesn’t use Nintendo services as mentioned in the description.

Ninty Launcher has always been open source.

Not at the moment. I’m working on a companion app for mobile devices that will be released in the near future (it will be included as part of an update), but that app will still require a PC running Rich Presence U over your local network.

There is a different application that currently works on mobile devices using some workarounds, not made by me but appears to have Rich Presence U’s database implemented on it, so you should have access to the same games that my app has. Here’s a link to their repository in case you want to give it a try: https://github.com/dead8309/Kizzy

Yes, it is in the description. Automatic setup is planned for Wii U games but not for the other platforms.

That is up to you, you have to provide the game/app executable that you want to add to your library, it can be anything from anywhere. What the launcher will do is that it will add a custom icon and title if the game or app you installed is found in the database.

Do balacobaco.

The assistant teaches you how to install games when the launcher is started for the first time. You just have to click on the last button on the bottom roll of icons, find the game executable and import. If you need more help there is a online manual.

Try one of these solutions mentioned here.

Pretendo Network? No, but they already have rich presence feature as far as I remember (at least for Mario Kart 8)

Yes, it works. Thanks.

Posso implementar esse recurso para Linux mas não consigo garantir o mesmo para as versões de Windows e macOS, já que são dois sistemas que eu não tenho tanta familiaridade.

No Linux export?

A few things to put into consideration.

  • No, I’m not working in UniMaker DX anymore I moved to UniStudio (which is the successor to UniMaker) since january 2021 [link],
  • In july of the same year I made UniMaker DX open source for anyone interested in continuing the project or compiling it by themselves, it can be found in UniMaker’s repo on GitHub [link], I made a announcement post in my official blog during that time [link].
  • The reason your comment got removed is because it wasn’t (and still isn’t) related to Ninty Launcher, you can ask questions about my other projects in their respective pages, one of my social networks or via e-mail. I’m always answering questions in these places.

I’m Sorry but I have no plans on making a macOS version at the moment, as I don’t have access to one and its environment seems to be a bit restrictive for apps like this (especially when it’s not digitally signed on an actual Mac device)

But source code is available for any macOS developers interested in trying something like this, contributions are welcome.

At this moment I can’t really tell if an “over the game” music player would work reliably on all platforms, but I’ll see what I can do.

Unfortunately this is not a feature, it is only possible to have a specific song playing every time you open the launcher, as part of the themes feature I mentioned.

You want a built-in music player or the ability to add a background music to the launcher?

If it is the latter you can already to that, there are example themes that have their own music files included with the download.

Automatic crashes?

You can find them on the repository linked in the description of the page.

Here is a direct link: https://github.com/ninstar/Ninty-Launcher-DB

What exactly? Your user configurations, the default themes or the resources used in the launcher source code?

Unfortunately no. But the next major update will have Linux support.

Glad to see it worked for you, I updated the post to help anyone that may get confused by this.

Try downloading it from the main page or from your library.

But I really appreciate your suggestion and will do my best to make something like this possible in the future.

Indeed you can, up to 12, but only one account can be logged in to Nintendo Network on the same console at once. That what I meant.

It might make sense at first, but it wouldn’t be feasible, I would need multiple consoles to do this, as you can only have one nnid logged in per console at the same time, it applies to both 3DS and Wii U, and as far as I know you can only see the status of those on your friend list, and both consoles have a limit of 100 friends per account, so you can imagine where this is going…

The most practical solution would be to allow each user to authenticate with their own account and use their information for this purpose, but the problem with this (as mentioned in the description) is that I would still need to have access to the Nintendo Network API to make this possible, homebrew alternatives that don’t rely on online services are totally possible and already exist (at least for the Wii U), but none of them are fully compatible with all games.

My hope is that in the future I can implement a simple and clean auto-activity setup using Pretendo Network, which is an open source alternative to Nintendo Network, although it is still under development at the moment.

Yes, all future updates.

I just replied to their email, I’m not totally sure but I believe it was because the payout mode was using my local currency (BRL), as I set it to be direct payment, so I changed it to the default payout mode again.

You should be able to proceed with the purchase now, sorry for any inconvenience.

That’s strange… I think you should try to contact itch.io support if you are still having this issue.

If you close the launcher and re-open it. It will automatically skip the starter guide.

Not sure about making an Android version, but Ninty 2 will be ported to Linux.

To rename an app or game you just have to click on the name. As mentioned in the manual.

I’m working on a new version that has native support for Linux, I post my devlogs on my Discord server.

You can submit your requests for icons here: https://forms.gle/7K597EZWuP4HMFxd7

Just fill the form as a suggestion, select Rich Presence U and include a link to the icons you wish to be included (if you have one)

Wel… This page if for Ninty Launcher. The source code for UniMaker Deluxe can be found on my GitHub though.

Have you updated to the latest version?
