Thanks! The scoring system is indeed something I cobbled together quickly and it needs more work...

I've created a windows installer, so no more manually extracting ZIP files, and you now get a handy shortcut to start the game. Future updates will automatically replace the older versions and so on...

A MAC installer DMG is coming in a couple of weeks...

Beta 0.9.12 released!

Check https://nilsdesle.itch.io/hyperbole/devlog/270517/beta-0912-released for details!

More feedback on the last beta:

- The menus get squashed/garbled on wide screens -> will fix

- Mouse and joysticks are always all active. This can have strange issues with e.g. throttles and other devices acting as joysticks. -> will fix

- Using the Shoot button as the advance-dialog button is not intuitive, should add hard-coded Enter and Space keys there as well -> will fix

Again, thanks to everyone playing for your feedback!

Beta 0.9.11 released! Check https://nilsdesle.itch.io/hyperbole/devlog/256835/beta-0911-released for details!

Interesting feedback received so far:

- The player should be able to start moving while the fadeout from white is happening when respawning -> will do

- There need to be graphics settings to change resolution, turn bloom and motion blur on/off -> will do

- Better, prettier scoring tables/boards? -> will think about it :)

Keep 'em coming!

All feedback is welcome here!

Hi all,

After 4 years of hard work in my spare time, I've released a free public BETA of my game, Hyperbole.

https://nilsdesle.itch.io/hyperbole

Hyperbole is a 3D, 1st person physics based puzzle game with action elements. You shoot unlimited amounts of big rubber balls at a high rate to propel a wooden cube through the levels. You also need to use the balls to interact in various creative ways with puzzle elements in the level to be able to progress.

There are 13 varied levels so far, with surprises in each, to keep the experience very fresh, and a cute story ties everything together.

My name is Nils, and I'm the sole creator, programmer, designer, artist and sound engineer on the project. So far, I've spent 150 Euros and a ton of spare-time hours on this project.

By releasing it on itch.io for free, I'm hoping to find some players willing to share feedback with me. Bugs, feature request, changes, improvements, tips, ... everything is very welcome. My dream is to attract a publisher willing to invest some money in the continued development and eventual release of the game on PC and maybe consoles.

Please give it a try and let me know what you think of it! There are downloads for Windows and Mac on the main page.
