Wow this was amazing. Great artwork, music, and execution. Having proper tutorials and introductory levels for each new mechanic is super impressive for a game jam I feel. And the game is just super cute! Really enjoyed playing it

I was pretty confused at first just being dropped into it. As far as I could tell, the first screen at all in the game is an upgrade screen which is a little jarring? I also had no idea what was going on for the first 5ish min of me playing (i.e. I didn't realize that my character was auto attacking and all I had to do was move around and dodge - but I also haven't played vampire survivors so maybe thats on me haha!). But dodging the enemies was actually really really fun, so that kept me entertained enough until I figured out what was going on. I like the idea of the big boss thats both impossible to kill initially and basically one shots you, adds a bit of nice tension to the game. Overall, really enjoyed the experience! I think maybe some sort of extremely brief in game tutorial, or better visual indicators for your attacks or something would be good though!

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah I think we could have done a lot to make it more visually clearer as to what's going on. Maybe better animations to show exactly what's going on, a better tutorial with a spin that doesn't speed up at all, and probably better text on the tooltips too. Learnings for our next jam! :)
Thank you! Yes, it was all of our first time doing a game jam! Yeah we got a lot of feedback that the scoring system and game mechanics in general weren't very clear. I think it was a combination of not planning the game out well before diving into implementation and also just running into time pressure to even get anything working. That's an excellent point about Balatro vs our game that we didn't think about, auto failing after one spin isn't a great experience if you can't tell ahead of time if you're gonna succeed or not. But just showing the number pre-spin also doesn't feel as much fun either though. Maybe having multiple spins just like Balatro could work, idk?
And yeah good call on the endless decimals, we should've thought to use format string, but I think it just totally slipped our mind under the time crunch!
Wow this is awesome! I love the old school 3d game feel. And as a fellow jam participant the fact that you made a 3d game blows my mind. I love the art, I love the interactability (like I know its literally the first challenge in the game and is super simple, but figuring out to use the lighter on the cobweb made me feel smart hahah). I like that the torches serve both to light up your path and also as a reminder of where you've visited.
I didn't manage to get too far unfortunately, I got a little stuck after getting the golden key, I could see where I need to use it but I couldn't find a way to get there. Admittedly I didn't spend too long trying too though of course.
Amazing work! :)
