ooh!! I thought I was doing the PPU wakeup properly, but apparently not then! Thanks for teaching me :) Out of curiosity -- what's the visible symptom on which you diagnosed this error? Or are you going through and debugging the submissions for common mistakes in general? :) 


ps. and thank you for the very kind words!! it's so nice to hear everybody say such nice things about our first ever NES creation <3 

pps. yeah the push mechanic is a bit weird 😅 basically you only push for a few hundred ms after pressing B, but on top of that the physics is a bit weird and pushes wrong.

Doodle Jump but with rockin' heavy metal guitars and bungie cords? looove it, wish I had a second player to try this out with!! And the transitions and different themes are AWESOME, looks fantastic.

Feels like this has a lot of potential. Learning all the movement tricks was reminiscent to learning wall kicks and bomb jumps in super metroid for me (some of my favorite moments in gaming). Took a while to get into it but when movement flows, it REALLY flows. Level design was a bit too frustrating to keep at it 'til the end though. Really looking forward to future versions!!

Fantastic controls and gameplay. This is the compo game I spent the most time in of all the contenders, because the game feel is just soo good. About halfway through I got too frustrated to start from scratch tho and started using save states. Some solutions made me feel reeaal clever, which is good game design to me :)

I've only explored the beginning so far but I really really like it! So much variety in environments, feels like a huge game?! Looking forward to spending more time with it!

The game crashes in Mesen :'(
