hi there! I purchased a couple of your epistolary games recently and I love the concept of doing this via mail with a friend.
Until then, I’d like to give it a try solo. For solo play, do I build a 12 card deck or 24 card deck?
Thanks very much!
Played through this game tonight. The rules are pretty simple. I rolled a D8 for the Catiju wheel options since I don't have a printer.
I was rolling the dice a lot - 9 rounds, 7 rounds, etc for each battle. A little sad that the final boss battle with Catjira was down to a single dice roll.
It's a really cute idea - facing down Cat-iju while trying to get some everyday tasks done. I was looking for a game that wasn't too rule heavy and this one fit the bill tonight. Had some fun. Thanks for the game!
Thank you so much!! Just reading through the game now. Does the first person on the joker stay there and the second person continues play until they get there?
Also, just wanted to say that I absolutely loved this song when I was a little girl (and still do) so when I was scrolling through the #cartajam games this title sucked me in. :) Are you often inspired by songs to write your games?
This is the first solo RPG that I’ve finished. It took me a couple of hours and the trip was fraught with peril near the end (car stolen, replacement car immediately crashed, my only character friend passed, and I got my leg pinned between some rocks) but thankfully my wealthy friend Ken Diamond gave me a ride to chat with his highly motivational running friend Forrest Clubs and I managed to finish…with a new love as well! I kept passing out and waking up in the “Den of Solitude”…(5times!) I was ready to pick some throw rugs and matching curtains but I finally made it to my destination - The Worlds Largest Ball of Twine was totally worth it! I highly recommend the gift shop. 😂
There were a few things I was uncertain of - do I “pass out” before or after I land on the new card? I didn’t quite understand how the “detours” were supposed to work - do I go back to the card I was previously on and go around from there?
Overall, a pretty solid game. Mine was mostly perilous. Thank you for the fun game!
