Drag your pet with the mouse, watch it stroll through the Start menu, explore the desktop, and even slide along the edges of the screen.

Plant a seed, water it, and harvest your first crop! The demo version includes basic tools for planting and watering.

Sell grown vegetables and collected resources to earn coins. In the demo, you can test the market system and basic trading with merchants.

💖 Take care of your pet

Monitor its mood, hunger, thirst, and fatigue. Even in the demo, your pet reacts to your attention — if it feels bad, it will stop working and might even get upset!

Organize items on your desktop and in the inventory. Move them with the mouse, free up space, and watch your pet help you tidy things up.

Personally, with Dead Tapes: Fading Father, we made $400. The refund rate was 16%.

You don't have to release your game on Itch.io — you could go straight to Steam. But then there's a real chance no one will even hear about your game.

For example, Bad Parenting probably wouldn't have become popular at all if it hadn't been released for free on Itch.io first.

If you release it only on Steam, you might earn more money per copy — but there's also a chance your game will be completely overlooked.
