Hey, thanks for the reply

I understand that now, but my issue is that there's no way of knowing which method is being used by the developer, at least to my knowledge

I'll try to contact support directly too, thanks

Bump

Is there really no one with more info on this? On itch's own support forum?

I already made a thread on the subreddit here about this topic and got some responses from a couple of developers, but I guess asking here as well might give a more definitive answer

When purchasing seemingly anything on itch, I get a popup asking me to input my billing information, including full name and address

Leaving aside the fact that the link in the form (2015 VAT MOSS regulations for EU) isn't even working, it's not exactly clear where this information actually goes

itch continues the notice with "this seller requires evidence of buyer location for purchases", which implies that this information will make its way into the hands of the individual seller, not itch
However, according to some devs who commented on the aforementioned reddit post, this seems to not always be the case: itch does relay some information to the sellers when they let itch handle the transactions, while they relay everything put in that form only when the seller is handling the transactions directly

Not only that, but there seem to be some differences between each individual purchase as well, with the name field sometimes being hidden when the seller is letting itch handle the transaction

As far as I can see, there doesn't seem to be a clear indication of where this very personal information actually goes before submitting that form. To me this seems like a pretty big thing to consider and something that would definitely influence whether I buy something or not: I'd be fine with letting itch handle this stuff if they kept it private, but I'd rather not have to trust an internet stranger with never sharing it with anyone and only using it for tax purposes

Does anyone share the same concerns or have more info on this topic?

Managed to beat it first try! And not with the skill issue mode!

What a final twist, incredible...

Thank you very much

Hi all, I believe my account was flagged as suspicious (maybe due to the fact that I created it and uploaded a game in the span of a week?).
I can't post any comment, leave any visible rating or interact with anyone besides following people and playing games. It's been almost a month since I've made this account, but nothing changed

The game is https://nekkosys.itch.io/red-panda-rush, it's just a quick game made in a week. Honestly I'm more worried about my account being limited right now

I previously wrote an email to support@itch.io for the same issue, but didn't get any response (ticket 368059). So, now I'm here

Is there anything I have to do to get my account verified? I can assure you that, last time I checked, I'm not a bot!

Thanks!
