Yeah, I think you should add a small tutorial/guidance or text to help the player. Besides that, though, great game!

This game was pretty good. I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into the visuals and music. Everything meshes well together. The only things that confused me were those cards and, overall, the upgrade system slightly, but the game itself was easy to play and easy to understand. I submitted my review with the Google form. As others have pointed out, you should probably implement a more in-depth tutorial. Otherwise, great game!

Thanks for playing the game!

Yeah, I need to differentiate this game from others, but for a prototype, it seems to be working well.

The red enemy actually doesn't do damage. I added this at the last minute to add some more flavor to the game, but it was definitely rushed and not how I saw it in my mind. I think I will end up making it one tap the player though as it is pretty easy to defeat with the spawn delay. However, it doesn't give that spooky element I hoped for.

For the health bar, you start with 200 HP, which means you can survive 6 zombie hits that deal 100/3 per hit. I intentionally didn't add one to clean up the GUI and make it a bit scarier/less cluttered.

The enemies that spawned in one direction from the boss are the "minions." It was intended to be like a boss fight, and the sole focus is the boss. However, to make the boss a bit harder, I added minions that would spawn to make it a bit harder than just shooting the boss. I might end up adding more distractions for the boss, but I am not sure.

I will try out your game later today when I get back.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, I might try again because, for me, I actually had good frame rates because it's a beefy laptop. It just kept crashing when switching rooms for some reason.

Yeah, it closed the game. Immediately, the window disappeared. The game was still using resources for a few seconds before it finally shut down.

Hi,

The concept seemed good, and the game seemed good, but it kept crashing when I entered the next room from the starting room. I submitted my feedback along with the computer I used for reference. But I think it shouldn't have crashed based on my specs, so I have no idea.

Honestly, great base game! I think there is a lot of potential that you can make this game into!

I found no bugs. The core gameplay did feel a bit easy after you learn how the enemies work. I'm usually bad at these types of games, and it felt easy, so you should probably increase the difficulty and make different types of enemies. But for the core gameplay loop and demo, this game is very good. I think there is also space to add more to the environment to make the visuals more interesting! Otherwise, great game!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Good point on the cursor, I will make it brighter so it is easier to track.

For the invisible zombie, I will definitely take a look at the spawning to make it more fair for players.  Right now, there is a quite loud audio queue for when it spawns if you play with sound on that alerts players.

Yeah, the sci-fi gun is definitely a bit different from the zombie theme. I was trying to go for a more arcade-style game before ending up trying to make it creepy and scary. Thanks for the feedback and glad you liked the sfx!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the game and found it scary! Nice job on the 161 seconds with 2 waves, that's pretty good.

The points are mainly for score tracking and potentially comparing them to your friends to add a sort of thing to aim for. The formula is a sum of the
  • total zombies killed * 100
  • waves completed * 500
  • accuracy * 1000
  • time survived * 10

For the upgrades, it depends. If you don't do bullet damage every turn, I think you fall behind and have to use more hits to take out zombies as the zombies' health increases by 20% per wave, but honestly, the knockback boost combined with bullet fire rate is a pretty good combo if you pair it with the machine gun.

Do you have any plans of releasing a desktop version? Also, do you ever plan on adding the mouse to control the camera for desktop players? Using the keyboard only feels a bit janky.

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I was mainly focused on polishing and producing a main core gameplay loop for a first project as I started game development only 3-4 months ago. Now that the core loop is working well, I am planning on adding more unique features to make it more interesting. Thanks for trying it out!

Are you ready to conquer the zombies that constantly surround you?  The waves NEVER stop. The undead KEEP coming. Are you ready to face the impossible as the Last Man Alive?

Last Man Alive is a fast-paced top-down survival shooter where you fight through endless hordes of zombies, upgrade your build between waves, and try to outlast zombies that grow exponentially deadlier! It features quick gameplay, 2 weapons, custom upgrades, creepy visuals, multiple enemy types, stat tracking + score calculation, and it is playable in your browser.

You can play it directly in your browser here or download it for better visuals --> https://ndwcillz.itch.io/last-man-alive

Would love any feedback or thoughts on the game!
