The number is a bit of a sham, the major (0) stands for incomplete, but it started out as 0.8.x to make it easy to remember that was the release for chapter 8. So 0.9.x is for the current chapter 9, and then we'll have 0.10.x for chapter 10, and then it's either 0.11 for chapter 11 with 1.0 for the epilogue, or we'll have 1.0 for chapter 11+ epilogue, depending whether if I release those separately or together.

I've not settled on the exact number of chapters yet, but you can expect season 2 to be more focused than season one, and concentrate mostly on delivering on promises made in season 1. How long it will take to make is hard to say, Season 1 took 5 years and by my reckoning well north of ten thousand hours of work to make, season 2, by its more focused nature, should take less, which isn't saying much I admit.

I don't understand. You can keep your choices, both for PC/Mac/Linux, where the process is transparant, and for Android, where you have to do one manual action (it is explained in game).
Make sure you use the latest versions of both season 1 and season 2, and read the release notes

Depends on how strict you set it up, and also sometimes virus scanners just go wild. Last year it was McAffee deciding every ren'py engine based game was malware. Oh well.

You can try to go into the properties of the zipfile you downloaded, (right click on it and select "properties" from the menu), and on the first page, check the "unblock" checkbox. Then unzip again, and try it. 

Oh, and make sure you're putting it on one of your actual harddrives, and not a network drive or external drive. Sometimes virus scanners will apply stricter policies on programs running from network or external drives.

Are you on a PC that has additional restrictions and policies set up above and beyond normal? Or a device that's been enrolled as a BYOD and might therefore have stricter than normal settings, or is issued by a company or government?

If you are running on an enrolled device, make sure you have permission from the administrator to play games on the device, and to run applications that are self-signed.

So about the message itself, it's not that defender saw a problem with the application, it's just saying the application isn't signed with a fancy, expensive publisher certificate (which it's not). I won't tell you to ignore your virus scanner warnings, all I'm saying is I'm running bitdefender myself and it doesn't have any issue with it.

It's a great system. Too bad it doesn't work for Android and I had to go a different route there.

Yeah, I'd preferred to just keep adding content to the original game, but it was getting so bloated all kinds of systems were just starting to fail, from horrendous memory issues on Androids to desktops requiring many GBs of RAM to even run, and all kinds of other weird timing issues inside the renpy engine. Creating the export/import mechanism was a pain, but it just wasn't feasible to keep it in one package anymore.

Oh yeah, that's probably true. There's not a lot to do anymore in many ways, although you can still get with some of the other love interests in the end.

It is an interesting notion.

One of the biggest problems facing me as sole developer is time, and to create some content specifically for that path (other than skipping everything involved with the wards and creating some dialog to glue the ends together) is hard to justify. 

So we will have an ending with the MC ending up with one of the office ladies, but it won't have any special scenes that aren't available too if you're also on the wards path. 

Remaster? What remaster? All that was added to episode 7 was an export function needed in chapter 8, which is why it was released before chapter 8.

Chapter 8 is what took a year to create (2.954 manhours to be exact).

It's a few months maybe.
