Thank you so much for playing! I had a blast watching your game play and seeing your reaction to some of the twists and turns the game had to offer, I'm so glad to see that you enjoyed the game and the lore behind it! The current project was done for a jam so there are a few bugs but I'll definitely be fixing those up soon and adding more to the game so stay tuned!

Here you go! Hope you enjoy this psychological horror game - https://mwac.itch.io/ophio
This was actually really enjoyable! I really liked the "latching" mechanic, and I think the whole idea is really smart, needing to be stuck to an enemy to do damage but also dodging their attacks, I could see this becoming big with a few more interesting enemy types and some more interactions you can do with the latching, awesome!
Really cool idea with this game, I liked the attention to detail like when the walls actually are syncing up with the breathing sounds! Also the audio was pretty nice, but I struggled with the controls a bit in browser, it seems that tabbing out makes it where I cant click to focus my mouse again, still really great work for the jam!
I've been working in game dev professionally for a few years now but I'm finally getting to make the immersive sim that I've been thinking about forever. This jam entry is basically a first look at the universe/setting I've been building for that immersive sim - obviously super scaled down and more linear for the jam, but it should give an idea of the vibe and some of the mechanics I have planned for the full thing.
So excited to play your games and see all the cool stuff everyone creates, I'm curious, is anyone else also using this jam as an opportunity to try some ideas they've had for a long time? Let me know below!
Yes thats exactly it! When we were testing we absolutely sucked at hitting any of the pins (in our own game...) so we thought the pins getting closer is a practical way of giving the player a chance while also being on theme for what we were going for. The bowling mode is a bit tricky to get the hang of but once you really get it you can get consistent strikes, what I do is positing my player itself a bit to the left so that the ball is more centered down the alley. Thank you so much for the suggestions, we'll make sure to try them when we have the time to revisit this project!
Thank you so much for playing!!, If you play enough rounds, a shop appears that you can use your tickets in to buy more balls, it's a bit of a proof of concept at the moment since there's not enough ball types and we already give you some of the special balls knowing people dont play jam games for that long, so we wanted to make sure everyone got the experience even if they were just testing for a few minutes. Thank you again, I'm glad you though the controls were smooth!
Thank you so much for playing, we had a whole doc of types of balls, all with passive abilities (when they're on the rack) and active abilities (when they're used), but for the sake of time we couldnt implement the majority of them. The only ones in this build are the regular, holy, and cursed balls so you found all of them! When we have the time we'll update this will all sorts of ball types!
It's so hard at first even for us the team that developed it! If you hold down both mouse buttons (so you're grabbing the ball and also holding down right mouse button) you enter bowling mode where you can swing your ball, then the trick is to let go of the left mouse button at the right time! Once you get the hang of it you'll be getting strikes like it's nothing!
