Truthfully I thought this was gonna be a steaming pile of crap, but I played through it and honestly was a lot of fun, its a very unique concept, trying to use the objects at your disposal to test if the building is completely stable or not was honestly a lot of fun, I get it, not everybody is a professional artist so I understand the use of clip art but because of that I cant give Art/Graphics more than 1 Star, but visuals aren't everything, you absolutely nailed the theme and I'd love to play a more fleshed out version of this game some day. Amazing work dude.
While I can appreciate the great amount of effort that went into this, I wasn't a fan, The gameplay was just really boring for me and I couldn't bring myself to play it any longer. And I'm confused on what the criteria is for a balloon to raise your happiness, It says its supposed to be close to the ground and that works for some but not for others. I did read the scripts for the unfinished story mode and I liked those a lot, I thought it was really cool how you guys introduced the gameplay mechanics with the story beats. And while I wasn't one for the gameplay, I will admit it does fit the jams theme very very well. Overall, I loved what you guys came up with, but the gameplay just wasn't for me.
I had fun with this one, It did take a while for me to fully understand what was going on which is to be expected, but I feel like there's a lot more you could made clearer to the player, like the meat object, I thought I was just missing my shots until I realized I had to cook it, because the raw and cooked sprites for the meat look nearly identical in gameplay. the fire spreading also feels really unfair to get hit by as it can just spawn randomly under your feet, there were also many time where I was standing next to the grill to grab food off of it but ended up accidentally grabbing corn instead. Despite its flaws I think this game was still pretty fun under the circumstances.
