What’s Duellum
This is the first project that we intend to release commercially on Steam, but if you’re reading this, I’m sure that you want to know what it's about.
Duellum is a medieval joust roguelike. During your run, you will have to fight many different foes in turn-based combat mechanics that apply different rules depending your equipped items, creating unique synergies and combat situations.
You have a bar of energy, that dictates which actions you can perform, and four different actions that have a different effect on your opponent. An action cannot be used in two consecutive turns.
- Attack: Strikes the enemy with your weapon, dealing damage. Consumes energy.
- Defend: Prevents an incoming attack, reducing its damage by 85%.
- Feint: Deals damage and drains energy from enemies using the defend action. Consumes energy.
- Regen: Regenerates energy, allowing the user to perform more actions.
Each duel is both a physical and psychological battle between you and your enemy, where you have to plan in advance your course of action, while taking into account the actions that the enemy can perform.
After every victory, you can enter the shop, where you will be able to purchase new equipment. Each piece of equipment provides different stats and passive effects that alter the flow of the game, adding new mechanics or changing the rules. Many items may have hidden synergies if used together that expand your possibilities to an extraordinary level!
At the moment, there are only three battles, with two stores between them. This is the first demo that we’re releasing and our intention is to test and gather feedback about the “fun factor” and potential of the project.

Next steps
This was our first big milestone in the development of Duellum, and we have big plans for this project. We intend to release a new demo every 1-2 months, adding content, polishing the game and implementing new features that we’ve in the chamber. This is a (simplified & reduced) roadmap of our current plans and schedule so you can know what to expect in each new demo:
- October 2025: Release 2nd demo with more content and branching map paths.
- December 2025: Launch our Steam page + 3rd demo, with couch multiplayer, bosses and new maps.
- February 2026: Participate in Steam Next Fest + 4th demo, with online multiplayer through SteamWorks.
