Hey, just out of curiosity and looking at the images provided, it looks like from V1 to V2 you cut out some weapon features, for example Zweihander went from having Sharp and Reach to just having a streamlined version of Sharp.

Was this more to just simplify and streamline, or were you finding some weapons with multiple traits were OP/unbalanced in playtests? I'm interested in hacking together my own weapons expansion and rules from a bunch of sources I've found, but wondering about balance on principle. I still want things to be rough, but some additional abilities specific to weapons or proficiencies sounds nice (I really like your idea of starting proficiencies and will incorporate it for sure).

Why should they always be treated as the enemy? Part of the fun of Mork Borg is that everything is doomed, and your character is scum. You can be a piece of shit if you want to. The role-play is completely open; it's not hampered like D&D where you literally just can't be evil.

(1 edit)

What is meant by applying ability & DR modifiers to results? We're just rolling the damage/armour value dice, right? So does that mean each point of AGI adds one point of flat damage reduction, and each point of STR adds one point of flat added damage on melee attacks?

I was looking through more of your stuff on DriveThruRPG and saw that one! I have the CY_BORG book too, but haven't played it yet, saving it for when I'm bored with other stuff. Definitely going to pick that up once I start CY_BORG. I can imagine it would be extremely demanding to write these.

Yeah it makes sense that not all skills might be compatible. I also see there are specific skills that seem tailor made for the book, so I added one to my character too. I rolled a Fanged Deserter randomly, and then noticed that one of the early possible encounters offers his teeth haha! I was wondering if maybe there are more encounters that might let you sort of build a strange hybrid-class character.

I also rolled for silver in the Mork Borg book and got super lucky with 100, then noticed the top end in your character creation rules is way lower, and felt kind of bad that maybe I should have a more desolate start haha. It won't save me though. I used my single starting Omen on my first fight to avoid being utterly decimated by a defence fumble.

Super fun so far, I love the choose-your-adventure style mixed in with some random rolls, and the flavour and stuff added to each scene and interaction! And also the feature of recording stuff into interactions for future interactions... Really really cool mechanic for the fact that you will most likely end up there again with another character, like a built-in world-building record! Love it.

Can I run this, generating a character with a class, or is it kind of designed with a classless starting character in mind?

how does the Chasm special room work? Do you just decide which diagonal the chams runs across yourself?

It has four exits, so I’m assuming that means the way you came from, and then either a left or a right. So i can just pick which i want and that defines where the chasm lies, i guess?

good to know thanks!

Heltung shop seems to be down. Anywhere else I can get a physical copy?
