I keep losing at level 9! I’m convinced Cirno has cursed me!

Needless to say, this game jam wasn’t the best. I want to attribute my failure to the extremely small timeframe i have added for game creation, and the fact that this game jam was rushed. Is there anything you want to see in my future jams? Do you want to see new kinds of jams? Please let me know in the replies, or use this form.

Skill issue.

It works similar to Scratch, but it provides an advantage that not many TurboWarp / PenguinMod extensions can. I’m sorry, but I don’t think I can allow you to use MakeCode for this jam.

Can you send an image of the editor, or the link to an example?

Winner of the first Scratch the Record jam is… Robo on the Run by PercyTheGreat!

2nd place: Puzzles Of The Slime King by DragonDaGameDev

3rd place: Boss Fight Deluxe by Uservin333

For this game jam, you can either make a game in the style of:

RPG and/or Rougelike

OR

Time is Limited

I dont have any money, or anything to give.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but to prevent people from making games before the creation period starts, i will leave the theme reveal to May 1st, when the creation period starts.

Because I have no funds, I can’t give a proper prize.

I mentioned Penguinmod, which builds off Turbowarp. You can use any engine as long as it stems from Scratch. (Ex: Snail IDE comes from Penguinmod, which comes from Turbowarp, which comes from Scratch.)

By rules, it cannot be a game that started development before March 1st.

You are allowed to update your game after submission, but if you update it after the submission period is over, your game is disqualified. Content update, design update, anything is allowed.

Hello, the winner(s) will be announced once voting is over. There are no challenges for this jam, but if you want, you can make some yourself.

I have decided to make the start of the submission period earlier. The deadline is still April 22nd, but submissions open on April 10th.

Just to clarify, if you can submit multiple games, you are allowed to.

I’m not sure if itch.io directly allows for multiple uploads for game jams. If i can find a way that allows multiple uploads, i will allow it.

For anyone who may be confused by the rules, i just want to clarify them.

Rule 1: You must use Scratch, or a Scratch-Modification. Extensions are allowed.

If you make a game which is not in scratch, or a modification such as turbowarp or penguinmod, your submission will not be accepted. You can use official scratch extensions, or any extensions from the modifications.

Rule 2: No gore (blood) will be accepted.

This is a simple rule, horror games are allowed, but they cannot use blood or any realistic factors such as organs. Bones are okay if they are very realistic.

Rule 3: No NSFW (not safe for work) will not be accepted.

This is the simplest rule. Just dont add anything sexual, or lewd. Slight romance is okay depending on the game theme.

Rule 4: Only games within the time frame are accepted.

Any games which start development within the time frame given for the jam can be accepted. For the first jam, you may start working on your project from March 1st 2025 to April 22nd 2025. Any games made outside of this time period will not be accepted. They can be uploaded in the time period, or during the submission period.

Clarification of Theme: There is no direct theme for the first jam.

In the future, any new jams may have a theme, but for the first jam there is none. You can make whatever your heart desires, so long as it abides by the jam rules.

Nice!

Amazing game! Its a little hard since arrow keys are generally smaller and harder to hit, but overall its a really good game.

Suggestions: Change up the page design a bit to make it seem more themed for your game, and maybe add some mouse only/mobile support.

TRUST ME i fixed it!!!

you should make the page colors dark mode like every big tech company!!11!!!
