Before I install, why is this game so big? This demo is about 11 GB, and I just installed the first Subnautica, which was only 6 GB for the full game. What's the story?

The concept speaks to me, as a person who can't sleep with even a drop of liquid still in my bladder, but I think it needs a few more tweaks.

The fisheye effect makes navigating through doors more difficult throughout the game.

The initial toilet does not always recede if you approach it at an angle, so I was able to climb on and around it. It took a while to figure out that I needed the toilet to recede a certain number of times.

The room with many stalls  has hitboxes for the doors that are too big, maybe? It's very easy to be trying to close one of the doors you have opened (otherwise you can't get past it) and accidentally click on a "bad" door beyond it by mistake, setting you back to zero.  I did appreciate that you added hints in there, as well as the hints in the maze.

Despite the hints, in the maze I still got completely lost. Tried following the light hints, but couldn't always pass through a door/wall near one of the key lights. Tried following the directional hints, but was not able to go left the second time; no door/wall passage in that direction. Spent more than 20 mintues going in circles, and that's too many minutes for a game about toilets.

It's an interesting and fun concept, so if you ever decided to come back to it to make any adjustments or additions, I'd be willing to give it another go.

I had a video ready to post with the game, but I'll tweak some of the on-screen captioning to reflect your plans (I'm afraid I did go on a bit about the darkness) before I put it on YouTube. I absolutely think this has the potential to take off, at least on a modest scale.

[I'm going to do my best to be non-spoilery in the review.]  I love games with unusual concepts, and this one drew me in immediately. I give you an A on atmosphere. The weirdness builds slowly as you go, and juanjo's ambient music is fantastic. I did get stuck here and there, trying to figure out what squares to click and what I was doing wrong (true to the real experience). The creep factor kept getting stronger as I went along. Once I started needing the WASD keys, though, I had trouble because it's SO dark, I couldn't tell certain textures apart that it turns out you need to be able to distinguish to progress, so I was just guessing what to do for 15-20 minutes, and after going in proverbial circles for 10 minutes, even the awesome background music and solid sound effects lost some of their power. (That one sound cue got me GOOD, though.) Eventually I did figure out what I needed to do to get to the ending. I think the game could use a little more polishing/tweaking, notably making the end less dark and the assets less trademark-infringey (maybe give the tool a parody name like "weCapture" and change window colors and fonts?), but with it, I feel like this game has potential to be big with the indie horror crowd. Overall, I really dug it.

What a great story! Contemplative, inventive, had just the right dash of humor, and had a mix of bleakness and hope at the end. I had such a good time reading it for the video on my YT channel.

I enjoyed getting into character to share this on my channel, although Rex Rosario did such an outstanding job voice acting that I sounded absolutely flat as the caller. I knew immediately who "Rosario" was as a person, without much dialogue at all. Yours is the first story featured in the three-story video I put together for my channel.

I loved this so much; it feels like you really distilled the film down to its essence here. I included it as part of a "Three random things from this game site"-type video. I think I said "cool" about six times :-D

This was a solid, atmospheric game. Maybe a smidge too dark -- I think I tripped over a rat at one point, but I couldn't see anything. It would have been a nice mechanic for the camera flash to illuminate the room briefly. Am I correct in guessing that the god we're trying to photograph is Odin? What with all the ravens/crows and the eye motif? In any case, I played it for my channel and it had a good first day (for me). Thank you for making it!

(1 edit)

Very pretty game, and while it didn't make my graphics card cry, the recording file size is huge. The biggest complaint I have is that the mouse sensitivity is fairly high and it's not adjustable.  It looks like you had a lot of fun experimenting with the textures. I got stuck for a little while in the first room because the trigger area for the gold portal seems a bit fiddly. The instruction only popped up very briefly the first time, and didn't seem to pop up at all when I was standing on the right tile but facing toward the door. I really liked the "radio tower" in the second area -- it's so nice to look at, and the sound when you complete the puzzle is SO pleasant and satisfying! I put the playthrough up on my YouTube channel and wishlisted your other big game over on Steam.

I enjoyed this so much! It's such a creative format choice. Just posted my gameplay video for it today. I will definitely be looking at your other games for future play.

Oof, that's a lot of existential contemplation! It's beautiful, though, and I particularly loved the visuals and music in the museum segment. (That cube was horrifying.) I played it for my channel and leaned into more optimistic choices.

Back again :-) Installation now works quickly. Very impressive, shiny, brand-new microwave. Perfect sound design. Amusing buttons. However, every pressed key just changes the readout from 00:00 to N0:0P. Is this what's intended, or are more features pending? I am fascinated by where this could go. (What weird random stuff could be put in here? What happens to it? Could you set the timer for six days and just wander past your computer every day and see it still running?) I'm already fascinated by the reflections in the asset design. I'm not sure why my brain has glommed on to this concept, but I'm weirdly eager to see what you do with this.

Thank you so much, that's so kind!

BTW, the pay link isn't working, either for PayPal or card. Do you have a Ko-fi page or anything?

Aw, thank you for watching! Your comment made it worth the extra time I put in to take out any odd mouth sounds or sniffles that my mic picked up so it would be a smoother reading.

Such lovely work! I was not in my best voice, but I tried, and I invested a lot of soul in my reading and choices. Thank you for putting so much care into this.

Mouse sensitivity is too high; the camera often whips up or down if you try to gently look left or right. I would suggest replacing the copyrighted music with something public domain or creative commons licensed -- the intro with the talking figure on the TV is enough to give it that Jigsaw flavor. Otherwise I think it's a fun premise and I like your writing.
