My sweetie has been complaining that itch.io is hard to browse. I looked around, and I kinda see what she means.
One big one is that you can't easily browse down to interesting tags, at least in part because selecting a tag doesn't narrrow down the new tags presented to you.
Lets say I click on browse, swap to physical games, then search for PbTA. All well and good; I now see all the games tagged as PbTA on the site.
But there's no sane way to narrow my search, And there are...ten top tags I can add to my search (albeit only by clicking on the + next to them, but that's a UX bug that doesn't belong in this suggestion).
But if I then click on the down arrow next to "select a tag", what do I see? "16 bit", "1 bit", "2d" "3d", and "3D platformer". All tags that have NO overlap with PbtA. And unlike the top tags, the default behavior on that control -is- to add that tag to my search.
Why not only display the tags that have an overlap with the search in that list? It should be easy enough to do; the top 10 list is clearly sourced from a search of overlapping tags. The alternative is...what? Having a pile of tags in the drop down that have 0 results in them? What does that serve?
