Ever wondered what a a backroom encounter between robo-rally and a regimental wargame would produce beyond sin?

https://mkfiver.itch.io/heavy-is-the-head

Award winning GDG Jam game; Heavy is the Head, is out and what's more, it's free!

A surprisingly deep introductory wargame that can be played with models you already have, or even paper squares. You can make an army in minutes and play the whole game with a pile of d6s and a playing card deck.

Featuring a one of a kind order-system and a randomized but malleable initiative, it tasks would be aspirants with planning out their turns in advance and doing their best to steer a derailing train as battle lines collapse, soldiers flee, and orders are relayed too late.

Ease of play and army creation combine with an intuitive but rather deep strategic layer as players maneuver to bamboozle an sabotage each-other's best laid plans. Leaders take center stage with the ability to modify orders in real-time and use a unique magic system that feeds off of the initiative cards and forces them to strike a balance between tactical flexibility and hail-mary haymaker plays.

5 factions take the field, each based on a different genre of classical regimental wargame. Each with their own roster of infantry cavalry warmachines, monsters, and magic spells.

Realms of Man bring classic medieval tropes with some romantic fantasy twists.

Domains of Animancy bring the fantasy undead trope back to scrap, with legions of the dead and monsters.

The Rat King's court call back to Napoleonics with Rat Levy's supporting Clockwork Nutcracker Line and Grenadiers.

The Kelpish Citystates draw from ancients wargames, a coalition of pseudo-Greek/Carthage/Rome, Their frog newt and toad combined forces each specialize in a different brand of warfare.

The Myconid War Tribes call back to tribal wargames with their chaotic, skirmish heavy playstyle and their varied tribes bringing hyper-specialized warriors and giant insect warbeasts to the fray.

Like I said, game's totally free, so go ahead and snatch a copy.

Any donations will go to paying my favorite artist/editor to turn it from its (award winning but amateur) Jam-Game state to a nice arty print-and-play snacc for all to enjoy.
