So the game is intentionally left vague so that neither character is directly gendered (and they both have gender neutral names), and there’s actually some flavour text where an NPC asks your gender and Kit refuses to answer! I wanted anyone to be able to project on them, whether they see them as T4T,  both nonbinary, lesbians, gay dudes, whatever! I suppose canonically that would make them both Agender though (hey, just like me!). I hope it’s not a problem that it isn’t super explicit.

That said? My personal headcanon for them is that they’re both transmasc. :3

Thank you very much! That means a lot to me because this game and its predecessor were inspired by the gameboy games of my youth. Specifically the first game was heavily inspired by the game long side quest in Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons!

There is definitely a lot of music (all made by me), so I’m not sure what happened, maybe a glitch? Also sometimes in the browser you have to click the game with your mouse for the music to start? Not sure, but I hope you give the game another shot if you get the music working! :)

Also the lie was that ***SPOILERS*** not only would you never actually be able to buy the hat, but you didn’t actually need the hat at all, as Parker had a hat the whole time! I wanted to go a bit more layered and broad of a lie than a fully literal interpretation. There’s actually a second bonus ending that you can get by knowing that information and being a bit persistent. ;)

Yeah unfortunately there are only so many pixels and the screens worked well in another colour palette but less so in this one.

Yeah, that’s kinda the thing with gameboy style stuff, scale takes a far backseat to vibes and whatnot. Think of Pokémon Red where Ash’s house is about 3-5 of him wide lmao.

Fun, but I wish you had met the limitation. Just a note: do NOT hit space AND  w at the same time, you WILL lock up the game.

Alas, I would have also loved for the boom box music to follow past just the one screen, but GBStudio has some pretty tight limitations in areas like that. Maybe the in-lore reason is that you can't hear a boom box on a windy beach from that far away. ;P
