Ooh, I didn't know that. We chose the name for it's cute sound and because we had recently eaten a soft and squishy mochi which Ana brought from Japan 😊

Petting Mochi in game is something we want to add! Would be great to play with him a bit too if possible 🤔🫠

We'll surely try to make a full game now, since everyone seems to love Mochi just as much as we do! Petting Mochi, mmm, that would be a dream. Maybe we have to make some plushi toys eventually 🙈 We do know a dog that is quite similar actually, but I'll let Ana say more about that if she wants to. She is way more private about her life than me, lol.

Thanks for the reminder about backstage footage. We've been meaning to make a time-lapse video and some photos about the art process. We'll try to do that for this game :)

Thank you. That is greatly appreciated :) It's comments like yours that motivate us to try to take the game further and come up with more features for a full game :)

Ah! I struggled so hard to understand what time I was supposed to reach. I thought I just needed to reduce it, but no matter how low I got it, I never got to the next level. Finally understood that I'm supposed to create the "Next time". Dang!

With that out of the way, this game really starts to shine. Very creative take on the theme, well-thought-out puzzles,  and lots of nice scenes to discover. Great job!

It's light on gameplay for sure. We hope to expand on it a bit, both story- and gameplay-wise, for a full game. I guess a hidden object game will always be relatively light on gameplay, though :) I'll take a look at your game. Gl in the jam!

Ye, we really wanted to make a game with Mochi and figured this would be close enough :D Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it!

Hand-drawing and watercolours take time. I helped on planning, story and feedback, but Ana did all the rest. That's a whole lot in 4 days...

Solid TD, or the basis for one at least! I played till tier 6, but then I needed to do something and had to quit. Nice graphics and gameplay, solid audio also. Would like to see even more creativity and variation when it's done, but I understand that's for later.

Som issues I encountered:
- Knockback seems to knock some enemies forward or to a random place sometimes. At least, after buying knockback, enemies suddenly popped up almost at the end sometimes, without destroying a single turret.

- I lost all my lives without an enemy ever reaching the crystal. It happened while I was writing this comment actually :D Most of my turrets are still intact and no line is even near being open. Probably this is related to the above.

- Generators seem to lock on to a random turret to repair it and then does so until it's full HP (or for a set time?), but they seem to try to do this with full HP turrets as well (or has some other bug) and therefore often just stay idle even if a turret is damaged next to it.

- Cash is unlimited as long as you start building generators early and grab a few upgrades. After tier 3 or so, I only lived off the interest and could never spend it.

That's what I remember for now at least. I meant what I said about the game being a solid base, though. I did after all play it for an hour or so! Good luck in building the full game!

Idea is good, audio is very good (especially for a short jam), graphics are great, gameplay is also good when you understand it (aha, I need to cut the bun!). I encountered a few bugs, like orders of only bottom bun not going through, and difficulty didn't work for me, so I couldn't get past level 1, but that's probably because I'm on holiday and stuck using the laptop's mouse pad. Overall a very good game for a short jam and a good basis for building a little indie mafia burger game if you want to :) (That mix reminded me a little bit of good ole Pizza Tycoon actually)

Oh, and cheers from two other Norwegian game devs! :D

I really liked your clicker too! 😊

Thank you. Wow, this is taking off. We'll  make sure to give you more Mochi 😊

(Sorry all for few replies today. I'm on holiday in Berlin/Prague and Ana is blocked for some reason 🫤 She's trying to resolve it, but also injured her hand from all the intense drawing.)

Thank you. I really liked your game as well 😊 The playtime and amount of content is especially impressive.

Thank you! And agreed. We'll try to find more twists when we expand the game.

Agreed. I really liked that as well. We added some more hidden critters after playtesting. Ana should be the one answering you, but she's blocked from posting again, for some reason. Seems to happen after every game jam 🤔

Thank you for the nice words. Ali did a great job on the music, and Ana and me have thought much about a story universe for Mochi where this is just the beginning. Since people seem to like him, I think we'll have more to come later 🥰

Thank you! So much soul. I'm just a helper on this one. It's Ana's soul 🙂 She is unfortunately blocked from posting. I'm on vacation in Berlin and it's 4 AM, but oh well. All of you deserved a reply. So nice.

Thank you so much! I think there will be more Mochi, hopefully sooner rather than later. Will probably take a few months still though 🤔

Aww! Me too, I think 😄

Very nice clicker game. Great graphics, cute dogs, and with a purpose as well :) What more could one wish for ❤️ One minor thing is that the important Powerup-button was a bit hard to see, especially since it partly hid behind the itchio UI buttons. But no matter, very nice game indeed!

A few hours? Count me impressed! Simple idea, but that is a compliment here, and it's very well executed. There's still a little room for polish as well. For insteance, in puzzle 2 it was a bit hard to understand the mechanics, but that's details. I'm sure you can also add more story later. Anyways, for this game jam and just a few hours, this is very, very good.

Unique twist on the bomb idea and nice execution on timing, graphics and sound!

Impressive game in just a few days! Good use of assets. I liked the puzzles. They had a nice and natural progression too. Well done.

Quite hard and may seem bad at first when you die to critters much faster than you, but it's worth the effort! The mechanics of hiding your light and searching under pressure works very well when you get the hang of it. I like that you took the chance to let us figure it out by ourselves. Good idea, well executed!

Thank you! :)

Thank you for that!

We are releasing a major update tomorrow that should make the game longer, add some incentive to replay it, add a lot of dialogues, and more :)

Thank you! Stay tuned for an update next week. We are planning to add quite a bit to the story 😊

Btw, could I ask you to write a review on Steam? We sorely need 10 reviews to get the algorithm to start showing the game to more people. Just write what you want and as short as you want. Thanks again 🙂

Uhm... yes, it seems that's the usual reaction. We didn't intend for it to be that sad when we started, but it turned out that way anyway. I'm almost certain chapter 2 will be a much happier one, if that's any comfort? 🙈

Thank you. We mostly reused sound from earlier titles in this version, but they luckily fit well :) Our sound designer has looked at the whole game anew for the upcoming expanded and polished version due in two weeks.

Yes. We'll try to preserve the moments from the previous games as part of the same story/universe, even if they are not directly included in the full game :) A polished and expanded version of Ignore the Blackbird will be released as chapter 1 of the full story in just two weeks from now. After that we'll start working on chapter 2. (We figured we had to split it up to be able to release with any kind of regularity.. and hopefully get some financing)

Thank you :) The story is growing so we'll be releasing the full game in chapters. A polished and expanded version of Ignore the Blackbird will be chapter 1, released in just two weeks from now. Hope you like it.

Aww. Thank you. We cried a bit too as we developed this and discovered where Sonya was leading us with her story.

❤️

Thank you. The full game will be released in chapters. A polished and expanded version of Ignore the Blackbird will be chapter 1, released in just two weeks from now. Hope you like it.

uh oh

Hmm, not sure what that's about. I tested the download now and got it just fine. Did you also test the alternate download itch recommends?

Uhm... no? 🙈 Ana is working 24/7 on her next jam game at the moment, but we'll be sure to add this when we can.

Yes.. I think that's the question, and how to answer it isn't so easy - both in game and in life.

Getting closer! We're aiming for the first week of May :)

hehe, sorry, not sorry :D It hits us hard when writing it too, if that helps :P
