I really can't give an honest opinion I feel like because I'm too charmed by the artstyle

I love how it looks, how it sounds, how it plays

Only complaints is I would let it be more known to the player if they're in deep shit because I got too careless and started dying quickly without realizing I'm in trouble. Also it's a little too slow if I wanna just use basic attacks for things and spam them until the enemy is dead.

You got something good in your hands.

also a way to look around more like in hotline miami would be good

i like what you're going for but god damn man, this is hard

i ragequit after 15 minutes of trying to get through the first corridor

played on a controller and everything was fine, the camera tilting was a bit disorienting sometimes maybe

Windows 11, RX9060XT, 9950X3D, 32gb of DDR5

It's fun! Sure it's early on in dev but it has a ton of charm, it feels good to mow through enemies in the 2nd level. The gorey stuff and TTK seem to be in the right balance already.

I  adore the shopkeep design, I wanna see more of her, the designs in general look fun and pleasant to look at.
I didn't have any performance issues at all except for the fact that my headphones got coilwhine out of nowhere playing it? Most likely it's a me problem.

I tested it out on a steam controller and aiming is broken with the right stick, I probably could fix it in steam input but just letting you know in case. Also when I entered the shop in the 2nd level, didn't buy anything and entered it again there were no things in the shop anymore.

Itch flagged it because I used a different PC to upload the patreon update. The downloadable file on this page has not been changed or anything and it's just an automatic measure. The download is safe.

Not at the moment, you can use the browser version for that technically though

Hi! You downloaded the wrong version, try the one that's marked to be with quests!

hello! download the version that's marked to be with quests, the new one is incomplete :D

Hey, the project is not abandoned, we're working on more content :D

It's not,
there is just two of us making the game.
we mostly post on discord

Hey, we did not, no worries!
It is just taking us a lot of time to develop it.

Nothing is dead, no worries lmao

It just takes time, we really wanna make it into a big game

The current version doesn't have the option to save yet, sorry!

Hey, it doesn't have a set period exactly, but it's rather a mix of 17th-20th century things

Yes, that is something that we are working towards in the 0.2.0 release!

I recommend joining the discord, we talked a lot about it there!

Hey! We are definitely going to add support for different languages including chinese, but it's going to come later!

It is a tech demo, we're currently working on a proper version of the game

As of right now it's not our priority, but it's gonna come at some point most likely!

Yeah, we're planning for it to be a much bigger game, so there will be a save system coming

Usually re-downloading the game fixes this issue

Rebinding is to come at some point!

we do a little trolling
(forgot it's a thing)

Sorry about the bugs, there are some still left!
We're still ironing the kinks out

Hello, yes! It's a feature that will come on the way to 0.2.0

If you do finish one of the two currently implemented questlines it will reward you with a scene involving humans

Glad you liked it!
We have more planned, so hope you come back check on it in a couple of updates!

Sorry about the bugs, we're still ironing out the kinks
A save feature will come with a 0.2.0 release, we're currently working on it!

I'm sorry to hear, we're working on a new animation system for 0.2.0 so it should fix it then!

We probably will get on steam at some point, yes
As it is for now: I highly recommend using the itch io desktop app for downloading mousetrap, when there is a new update it will only download what changed.

It is alive, yes! We are just working on the larger 0.2.0 version right now.
Around a week ago there was a supporter version release that fixed some bugs and added a few new clothing options.

We do plan on adding it at some point, yes!

We wanna have more things to show first, so we will setup a steam page probably around the next big update or so

As far as I know I didn't put anything in there, I don't even know how to make malware.

Keep in mind VirusTotal shows you that as one positive out of many many other negatives. In the end I guess it's your call whether to trust it or not.

We did build to linux before, but we couldn't test it ourselves

So after a few reports that it doesn't seem to work on linux we decided to discontinue the linux builds for now - we will try to bring them back later when we can more reliably test

That comes from sound, if you run around you create more sound
There is a symbol on the ground (we should make it more visible) that tells you what's your sound radius.

We will most likely be adding some sort of traps in future updates, it's just a demo that was a bit rushed, so a lot of planned content is lacking still!

Thank you for the review!
I'm happy to hear you enjoyed at least parts of it! As you pointed out the game is very early in development, there's a lot of stuff missing and a lot of stuff we're planning to change.
We will be taking all of the feedback very seriously when adding new content / changing what's already in there

Thanks, we will think about your suggestions!
I'm glad you enjoyed the game so far!

I'm fairly sure I didn't put any malware inside of it, the only times the game even connects to other servers out of our accord is when you open up a link for socials, we just ask your browser to go to a given URL.
If you're very worried - make sure you test with multiple testing sites, if only just one reports a virus then I would say it's just a false positive.

Sorry for the late reply!

Thank you a lot for the feedback, it means a lot and we're really glad that you liked it!

We addressed a lot of the issues with patches by now, your reports were very helpful!!
