Building a team of collaborators to create a short (~2 hour playtime) first person narrative-driven game set in a dark, Victorian-inspired city.
The player takes the role of a half-monster struggling to survive, earning food by hunting monsters much like themselves. Unknown to the citizens, a hidden mechanism within each person transforms them into violent monsters when they succumb to despair.
The story explores themes of despair, interpersonal connections, loss and grief, with gameplay centred around storytelling through dialogue, quests and light combat. The narrative is mostly linear and focuses on atmosphere and character depth.
In terms of tone and pacing, the project draws inspiration from the dialogue-driven exploration of Firewatch and the dark industrial world of Dishonored.

There is a game design document that outlines the setting and story. I have additional notes I'm still consolidating, but I'd love to discuss them and share parts of the document through discord. However I won't be sharing full documents for IP reasons until a contract is signed.

I'm happy to and plan to adjust focus based on individual strengths and interests.
There's plenty to do in all areas, so until we have more built you would be able to focus on whichever aspects interest you most.
Hello!
I am a developer currently putting together a volunteer team for a short story driven game in unity, looking for writers to help expand the world and its characters.
The narrative focuses heavily on the emotional aspects of isolation and interpersonal connections, here is the single sentence pitch:
A half mutated outcast hunts the fully transformed in a world that treats them as no different, where companionship offers hope but at great risk.
If you are interested in learning more about the project, we have a discord server and you can view my portfolio here.
Feel free to ask me any questions directly.
It would be a great help to have your assistance, even if it's just in the form of consultation.
Thankyou for your time.
