Search up 8-bit music and I really like the ones done by DJARTMUSIC - or smth like that. I have the name of the artist in my game, can’t remember off the top of my head.
The economy is defo a must improvement. I intended for many many more waves - in which then the economy would seem more viable (Start you can only afford ammo, but then slowly progress to upgrading and sorts) but the scope was too much. Seems i fell victim to unpolished mechanics.
Theme I pretty loosely interpreted - you only choose 'ONE ROOM' to be attacked... its a bit of a reach but i thought 'ok lets just go with it'.
Yes, you’re right - I just got back into it after 3 years!
For the windows, I wasn’t sure how to make it run automatically? But I’ll take a look, thanks for bringing that to my attention.
The note on visible hierarchy is actually pretty helpful - thanks for this. I normally hate UI, and this could be a good way to elevate the experience by actually toning it down due to it creating focus to certain elements.
An EXTREMELY fun game - and had so many ways to score it was soooo good. The combination mechanic of placing items in tiles and whether they were adjacent was really interesting and defo boosted your game massively.
However, I couldn't hear any sound, which would hugely improve this game. Even something as simple as background music would suffice.
Artwise it felt unpolished, the use of tweens would've improved this - and dont take much effort. I was actually a fan of the font and some individual assets, albeit they don't mesh well with other assets in scene due to simple misplacing or colours.
I love the premise and theme implementation - especially how every level encompasses the same like 'ONE ROOM' and morphs into the next one. Level Design was another good thing about this entry, like how the moving blue platform was slowly introduced and such.
However Gameplay wise the character felt 'floaty' rather than precise, which would be desired in an obby game such as this. Implementing 'Coyote Time' would also really improve the Gameplay.
The Sound for me was extremely quiet, and some background music could've really elevated the experience. The Art was alright - however a Toon Shader could've improved it.
Solid job overall!
Was a great short game. The sounds and game juice were really toned in and I quite enjoyed it. At times however, it was pretty hard for me to notice taking damage due to the nature of it being bullet-hell-esque. Perhaps a slow-down time effect when hit would be useful, although not too sure.
Really did like the art, however at times, in regards to the floor and background, felt somewhat unfinished or not in the exact same style. Not too sure on it as Im no artist hahahaha.
Overall, a strong entry - and the actual gameplay was very enjoyable.
