So, I recently picked up Pitcrawler. I like the concept a lot! Just a gm and 1 player. Makes it easier to play solo if I want.
Unfortunately, I find it lacking. Even though the idea presented it that a player does pitcrawling there is no procedure to do so, and that not just the name that's the concept of the game too. I looked thourgh the book, and found no advice about the Pit, as this book calls dungoens.
It says in the back it as alot of tables but lacks any tables for making senerios, dungeons/pits, settlements, wilderness, npcs (kinda assume your memt to us some if not all the pc tables). It also lack of procedures for pitcrawling, exploring the wilderness, & interacting with npcs. The last one could be handled with like a Heart check or something.
I feel I have to use procedures form other games, make and or get other materials to play this one. It feels incomplete. I really do like this game though.
I feel I may just want to play a different game. I don't know. This is the same issue I had with Tricube Tail. The lack of all the above and a list of even monsters.
- Does any one here have experience running and/or playing this game?
- Any advice?
I have read the rules over and over, and still do not understand the resolution procedure. What to do when you do not reach your Objective. do you just keep rolling encounters and resolution rolls until you find your objective? Do you move on to another devle? Are you suppose to keep exploring areas beyond the Delve Site?
Tried to print the cards 3 times, and the smallest text was unreadable even after upscaling them. Thank you for inlcluding an inversed version. Hopefully I can get it to print better next time!
UPDATE:
Finally was able to play this. Unfortunately even after finally getting a legible print, I found it not really fun for me. I found some other pocket games to be more fun. This is a nice idea, but it didn't do it for me. Thanks for the game though!
Just tried to print some games at the library, but it is sooo tedious that I didn't get to print this adventure. All the double sided prints printed wrong, and 1 game I had to toss, because the printer didn't print to the edge. I am not new to printing. It seems that in an effort to make printing easier they messed it up.
So even the simple stuff, I have to find a print shop and pay more to get it done right!
I finaly got my physical copy, and I love it. Is there was some way to get the Tacker it mentions? Also, the physical copy I got came with the pdf, but just the 1st file listed here. Nothing else besides the physical copy. I'd love the sound track. Is there anyway to get the soundtrack separately? And even the other files? I already paid more in shipping then I wanted to get Apothecaria and Delve; and already have the pdf of Apothecaria. Thank you for these amazing games!
