You're absolutely right about the map texture and distant trees. Billboard/Imposter trees for LOD is something I’ve been meaning to implement, especially as I move toward larger-scale environments. UE5 may have built-in solutions for that.

Also, thanks for the tip on FMOD and the War Thunder sound repository, that’s super helpful. I haven’t dived deep into audio yet, but your suggestion makes me want to start experimenting with it sooner :)

Checked out your sound mod as well. Honestly it’s a great start, especially if you're doing it alongside everything else. Would be cool to see how it evolves! Thanks again for sharing all this, really valuable insights!

Sorry for the late reply. I am learning UE5 and trying to make larger maps based on real terrain. Here is the tech demo I was working on in Unity with Houdini.


I was trying to make a game similar to GHPC but the workload is nearly impossible for a single person to accomplish. I want to thank you for your interest and support. I may have to focus on my study at this moment but feel free to leave any comment or reach out to me if you any other good game ideas(especailly tanks-related ones)!

Thank you for you feedback! It's likely we will make the player only be able to drop the item when the cursor is above the cart. If the cursor is not above the cart, the item on the cursor can't be dropped and it will be red so the player will know they can't drop.

Yes, there will be updates. However, it may take a while because I am planning to continue this in Unreal Engine 5
