Driftcore is now playable free in a desktop browser. I’m developing this sci-fi survival game in Godot, and I’d love to introduce it to more players.

Play: https://mellowbyte.itch.io/driftcore

Hold, drag and release to launch your Core through enemy fire. Use limited slow-motion Focus to plan your next launch, then work with gravity, wall rebounds and defensive skills to survive until enemy firing timers run out. Close passes reward careful dodging and shorten your signature skill’s cooldown.

Guided flight training introduces the controls before the campaign. The current release includes 20 Cores and a branching 30-level campaign, with defensive modules and upgrades. Progress saves in your browser.

Mouse and keyboard are required. No download or payment is needed; optional donations are not required to play.

This is an in-development release. I’m the developer, and development uses AI assistance for graphics, audio and code, disclosed on the game page.

If you try flight training, I’d appreciate hearing your first confusing moment: were launching, Focus and the defensive skill clear?

I'm developing Driftcore, a sci-fi bullet-dodging survival game, and would like specific feedback on the first-time experience.

Play: https://mellowbyte.itch.io/driftcore

Platform: desktop browser, mouse and keyboard. Free to play; no download required. This is an in-development release with AI-assisted graphics, audio and code, as disclosed on the project page.

You hold, drag and release to launch a Core, then use gravity, wall rebounds, limited slow-motion Focus and a defensive skill to outlast enemy fire. The Core does not shoot.

If you have 5–10 minutes, please try the guided flight training and the beginning of Signal Harbour. You do not need to finish the level. I'm especially looking for feedback on:

1. Did training make it clear how dragging launches the Core and how holding uses Focus? Where did you hesitate or get stuck?

2. Was it clear when and how to use the E-key skill, including any aiming step?

3. In the first encounter, could you distinguish hazards from pickups and understand the NEAR / PERFECT dodge callouts?

4. Did gravity and wall rebounds feel predictable enough to plan the next launch?

Please mention your Core, rough survival time, browser, and the first unclear moment. A sentence or two is useful; candid criticism is welcome. Music starts muted in System > Audio, and controls can be changed in System > Controls.

Thank you for helping improve the opening.
