I can only agree - This game is one of my favourites in the Jam!
We had a similar idea for a hatching sequence in chick with gun, but ran out of time to add it - great to know that our little chick's ancestors lived in such a beautiful colour scheme with such a fitting sound design! The art was really great and I really liked getting new skilly with every evolutionary step

I didn't manage to run, but maybe I did something wrong? Anyways, I liked the idea a lot, but I think this game could benefit from more enemy types. It felt repetitive after a while, maybe because I was walking so slowly! Also, I liked the music and atmosphere, kind of reminded me of the clock in the dining hall in the Resident Evil 1 mansion. The walking sounds felt a bit out of place imo, especially as it is so crucial for the game. I also liked the ending music.
The art was beautiful! I also liked the little tutorial room,  I think it fit the theme of the jam perfectly well.
I can see a longer version of this on steam :)

@Archi Inu just called me over and said that I have to play this game, hovering over me while I played it. And then in the end proudly proclaimed: "When I played I imagined us playing this coop together, and I would shout PUMP THE OXYGEN!!" ..

I really liked the atmosphere (visual and sound design wise) - Good job!

This was fun! I especially liked the Sound Effects. It took me a while to figure out that I could move those blocks.

I really like the overall feel and aestetics of the game! The art style is lovely, the music fits really well and I really liked the concept! The only thing I would probably change is the thumbnail picture. I was execting something different (and something far more boring that is) from it, to be honest! A few things could be balanced out a bit more (complexity of the puzzles, coyote time... I think I don't have anything to add to the other reviews), but overall this is a great start! Special shoutout to the Music/SFX team :)

Dear Mr. Cheese,

thank you so much for your review :) It was great fun to watch someone who isn't related to us (and therefore biased to like it) play our game! And we have to say: You handled it gracefully! Although your comment about Professor Duck doing "terrible things to snails" soundeda bit rich after "smashing the hell out of those rats". Look out for the longer version of our game -we are already working on it-and you might find out more about those ominous experiments!!!

Also, your comments helped a lot :)
Best,

Hi, I'm the one who made the art for this game :) Really glad you liked our smug little friend, that means a lot from someone with such an amazing art style! We're already planning on a longer version with many more enemies and characters!

Seeeeee, I told you you would like that one!

The gameplay felt soo smoth! It took me a hot minute to figure out I could shoot those enemies, and I only saw the big ship when I died and restarted. From the screenshots I can see that the little gun symbol was supposed to be below those two bars on the left, for me it was shown behind them.

I can only repeat what others have said before, but I have to add: Loved the Atmosphere! I really liked the colours and the visuals, and the music just fit perfectly! (Reminded me of "Running One" and other Songs from the Soundtrack of the german movie "Lola rennt)  I also liked the sound effects. Somehow I felt like my little machine was rollerblading..

It took me a reeeally long time to figure out that the big guy guarding the meat wanted my stone money. I actually already closed the game and deemed it unplayable, but then I kind of got angry with myself by being too stupid for stone age trading and started it again!
I liked the mechanics, but I think the optics of the ingredients (and the above mentioned stone) were a bit misleading. I have no idea what that one yellow thing next to the eggs was supposed to be, and overall the potatos, that thing and the eggs looked too similar. Once I figured out how to play, I was able to beat the game easily. Albeit the walking animation was great to watch, I would have wished for new customers to appear a biiiit faster (they were probably just exhausted from all that hunting and gathering..)
My first two customers appeared to be unstatisfied with my meal quality, they simply collapsed and vanished - I am not sure if that was a bug or if I poisened them or something?

Overall, I liked the idea and the design, the music was fun and fit the derpy movements and style of the cavemen. With a bit of polishing and some fine tuning in the level of stress (multiple customers, customers that get angry when you don't hurry up, ect..), I think this could be a great little casual game :)
