The tone is inspired by City Hunter, Great Teacher Onizuka, and Golden Boy - edgy, slightly pervy, dry humor, a protagonist who's charming and useless in equal measure. Mixed with Seinfeld-style observations about expat life, cheap coffee, and the reality of "living the dream" when the dream has a daily burn rate.
