Thanks for playing! We were rushing to push the game out by the end so much of the balancing isn't there. The cure button should work given you've discovered all the plague symptoms on that individual. I'll probably do a small update to this tomorrow or another day, and later on update the game in a balanced state with everything we initially planned. If the cure button still doesn't work, let me know!
Yeah, a bit sad that we couldn't pull everything together how we planned it but that's the nature of game jams. We'll be looking to push an update out sometime in the next week fixing most of the issues - but for now, I recover.
About the Cure button, it does work though only once you've discovered all the symptoms related to the plague. In hindsight, it's a bit silly and it's not communicated at all. The gameloop is a mess in this version so maybe it's best to appreciate it as a 'vision' or 'concept' haha
I didn't expect it but this is one of my favourites of the jam so far. It has a really funny concept that's simple and well executed. Love the royalty-free audio, scatched an itch I wasn't prepared for and made me laugh. Only critique I have is your implementation of the special object. It felt random and didn't appear to belong to the gameloop in any shape or form. Otherwise, fantastic game dude/ma'am!
This game really gives 1999 and I like it. I did have some minor gripes being that a few character were identical, and much of the gameplay felt I wasn't building towards anything. Maybe if there were milestones or a big clear goal that I could unlock upon progressing. Happy to be corrected if there is! Otherwise, good work!
Damn, great game guys! The spookies were really creative and a good touch with the ending sequence. It took me a while to fully comprehend the extent of the crawling mechanic other than grab and move- genuinely takes some skill nearing the end of the game and I love it for that. My only critique would be the camera movement as you crawl- it might be better to keep it static as you crawl and smoothly face whichever direction the player is moving. Other than that, I loved it!
Hey, just barely missed the submission by a few seconds D: https://aymlessstg.itch.io/bruce-on-the-loose
