Hi! I've always loved card games, poker most of all, and this is the first game I've ever finished and put out. It's very much inspired by Flappy Bird: same one-tap flying, but I wanted the obstacles to matter for something more than survival.
You're a parrot flying over the sea. The obstacles are columns of playing cards, and each one ends in a face card. Fly into it and the card is yours. Once you have five, they become your poker hand, and it has to beat the octopus's hand shown at the top of the screen. Hit a card back or touch the water and you lose a life.
You can only take one card from each gate, so you keep choosing between the easy card and the risky one that might finish your flush.
There are 10 stages, from beating a single high card up to an octopus holding a straight flush, where only a royal flush wins. It's free, runs in the browser, and works on a phone held upright too.
Since it's my first one, I'd really like to know which stage you got stuck on, and whether you could read the cards while flying.
