Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!

The drum beats and guitars in this are super sick! There's an edge and darkness to these tracks that definitely fits well with the detective game idea. Great work!

You nailed the sunset beach feeling with this project! The city pop and lofi influences mesh really well with the prompt. The basslines across the whole project are the biggest standout imo, super groovy!

As someone who was also inspired by slice-of-life for their submission and has written music based on the seasons in the past, I loved hearing your take on those ideas! The variety here is really great. Your tracks have a lot of character and do a good job of representing each season in a different (and fitting) way. I especially like the solo piano compositions! I don't mind the mixture of different types of recording (I actually really like it) but I do think putting a little bit more attention towards the mixing and mastering process would go a long way. Lovely submission!

Your genre choice gels really well with the theme and gives off that nostalgic summer feeling - it even feels a bit like a coming-of-age indie movie! Also HUGE props for using MIDI guitars and making them sound good, that is a feat in and of itself! Amazing work!

Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks! I'm glad the last two tracks felt impactful!

Thank you for the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback! It's actually a melodica, not a clarinet! But yeah the sound came out a bit more harsh than I wanted - I definitely recorded a little too close to the mic lol

Thank you!

Thank you so much!

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely agree about the bass line!

Thanks!

Thank you!

Thanks! That was one of my favorite parts to do!

Thanks so much!

As a big fighting game fan, I'm glad someone did a fighting game submission! The instrumentation here is super cool and you also have some really sick rhythms and chord changes! I will say there are some moments where the character themes feel a little too chill for a fighting game, so I was wanting a bit more intensity. Very cool project!

Your choice of sounds is very successful across the whole project. There's a stark yet warm feeling you create that really fits with the game idea you described. Great unique take on the theme!

This is one of the sickest submissions I've listened to so far! Killer rhythms, funky lines, and all around catchy tunes. You did a great job portraying each of the characters' unique personalities musically. No notes!

Your choice of instruments is really successful in creating that nighttime, nostalgic atmosphere (especially that mix of delay guitar and electric piano). The harmonies are really cool too and add a little mystery to the project, which fits well with your idea of rediscovering lost memories. Something minor to think about for the future is the mixing (everyone's FAVORITE part of music making I know), as the drums were getting drowned out a bit. Nice work!

P.S. Have you ever heard the album Paper Castles by Alice Phoebe Lou? Your project reminded me of it :)

The concept is definitely there - sucks that it didn't work out with the vocalists but I see the vision! Bold choice to make a midi guitar track (I know how much of a pain that is to do)!

I like how you incorporated the main leitmotif in each track. I do wish that that leitmotif was a bit longer though, as it gets a bit repetitive after a while (especially in track 2). I did really love track 3 - very beautiful piece!

Visual novel gang! Everything on the technical/production end here is incredibly well done. The way you mesh electronic and acoustic sounds together is super seamless and fluid. I do feel like the voicemails cheapen the experience a little bit and the story would still be told effectively without them, but that might just be a me thing. Amazing work aside from that though!

Incredible arranging and orchestration! Both pieces feel like they tell complete stories, though that does maybe make them feel more well-suited for a film than a video game? Absolutely beautiful pieces anyhow!

Great job portraying the motion and airiness of sailing musically! Your game idea is also super unique and cool!

It was a really good idea to assign specific story/character roles to each of the instruments. I think the compositions fit the dark/light theme well, but I would've liked to hear a bit more of the love and romance ideas come through. I also wonder if experimenting with soundfonts instead of BBCSO might suit the RPG Maker idea a bit more. Overall nice work!

It's cool how you connect musical ideas to specific story/character moments. I really like the chords in the first half of track 2! Nice job!

Unfortunately I read the context before listening but I can say that all of the tracks definitely fit! I really like the collection of sounds you used - they feel very warm, which obv fits with the summer theme. I also love the drums in track 2! Nice job!

Nice big orchestration! It's cool how each track leads into the next. I can definitely hear the Outer Wilds influence!

Super unique submission! Great genre choice for the theme and cool game idea. Nice work!

Your compositions feel adventurous and calming at the same time. Really unique textures and mixture of instruments. You did a good job creating enough variation to make the tracks stay interesting even when they both build off of one base idea the whole time. Great work!

Really nice compositions and arrangements! The way the instruments dance around each other is fantastic (especially in track 2). I desperately want to hear this with some higher quality VSTs (MuseScore is a good free program with great orchestral sounds)!

This soundtrack is filled with joy and whimsy! Fantastic arrangements and a super fun concept. I love the use of accordion! Amazing work!

Cool sonic palette and mood! It's cool how you incorporated the main leitmotif into each track but I would've liked to hear a bit more unique musical material to individualize each track. Nice work!

Nice atmospheric synths - they mesh well with the sound effects. Would've liked to see the musical ideas fleshed out a little more but obv understand the time constraint. Nice work!

Beautiful soundtrack! You get a lot out of just piano and strings. One critique I have is about the battle theme: while good, I think it could use a bit more intensity (swapping sustained sounds for shorter staccato sounds, adding in some more low notes, etc.). Amazing work!

Great arrangements and pacing. The percussion and vocal samples are sick! Super cool project!

Great job capturing the atmosphere of nighttime driving. I also love how you incorporated the car sounds (especially the blinker in track 1)!

Fantastic arrangements and textures that perfectly match your game concept. I would listen to a full-length soundtrack of music like this!
