Hello everyone,

First of all, I want to say that I really love Asset Forge. The concept, the workflow, and how fast you can build clean block-based 3D models are genuinely excellent. I was very excited to use it in my projects.

Unfortunately, I’ve run into several usability issues that make the software effectively unusable for me, which is why this is so frustrating to write.

As a long-time Blender and Godot user, my muscle memory is built around:

  • Rotate view → Middle mouse button

  • Pan view → Shift + middle mouse button

  • Fast manipulation using move + rotate Gizmo in Godot

  • Fast manipulation using shortcuts in Blender

In Asset Forge, mouse and viewport controls cannot be rebound at all. The only customization available is a JSON file for keyboard shortcuts, and it contains nothing related to mouse buttons or camera navigation. On top of that, when key bindings are changed, the UI prompt icons do not update, which makes custom bindings confusing.

There are also other workflow limitations that add friction:

  • It’s impossible to display move and rotate gizmos at the same time, making precise and fast adjustments difficult

  • There is no list or panel showing all blocks currently placed in the scene, making object selection sometime harder than necessary

  • There is no dedicated “View” tab or menu to control or adjust these behaviors

Because of these limitations, I constantly fight the camera and the tools, which completely breaks the otherwise fantastic creative flow. I bought the Deluxe version several years ago because I genuinely want to use this software, but every time I try, I end up giving up for the same reasons.

Therefore, I’d like to request the following features:

  • Full mouse + modifier rebinding (especially for viewport controls)

  • Blender/Godot-style navigation presets

  • UI icons that reflect custom bindings

  • Ability to display move and rotate gizmos at the same time (Godot-like Guizmo if possible)

  • A simple panel listing all blocks currently placed in the scene

I don’t think this is a minor preference issue, because for users coming from Godot and/or Blender, these are hard blockers. I truly hope this can be addressed in a future version, because Asset Forge is otherwise an amazing piece of software.
