hiiii,
Thank you so much!
We really appreciate the feedback; Papers, Please was definitely one of our inspirations, haha.
Regarding the endings, there are three endings and one "infinite" ending.
If you have a moment, I highly recommend trying Malcolm's ending. It is my favourite.
Thanks again for playing :)
Hi!
Our game is a bit like a razing game, but with a fun twist, and made with Unreal Engine.
And we’ve added a photo stop-motion art element to make it even more interesting.
You can check it out here: https://pibbs-studio.itch.io/performmax
We’ll be sure to take a look and give all the games in this thread a review later today! :)

Thanks for the feedback!!
The phone is actually our way of introducing the game and the concept of “performative male”; we weren’t sure how many players would know that term, so we used the phone to explain why you need to run to the cookie shop.
Totally agree we could’ve labelled it as the intro or added a short hint.
It’s basically an intro cutscene.
Appreciate you flagging it!
Great SFX and visuals.
Interactions are really well made and the physics feel solid.
My main gripe is the randomness: with bouncy, unpredictable interactions the player has little agency, and once the thrill of scoring fades it becomes a bit repetitive.
Nice job overall, I’d try adding ways for player skill to shape outcomes so the connection to the game feels stronger.
Really cool game.
The animations are satisfactory and many elements feel well made and thought through.
I’d add more motivation to progress between levels, more tension or clearer feedback would help.
The upgrades are a bit confusing at first; it’s hard to see their purpose. Maybe include upgrades that change play-feel or odds rather than just numbers.
Otherwise, great job: nice atmosphere and cohesion.
Visuals and the cards art is really cool.
The only con for me is how close is to Balatro.
I see the intention and its great, but noticing how the gameplay itself is so close to Balatro, even some buttons and even more some of the sfx was a bit of a flop for me.
Anyways it´s a great submision, fun and enjoyable. gj m8.
Clear potential.
The combat seemed bugged (for me): I couldn’t trigger the cookie flip and there was no feedback, so I got stuck while attacks kept coming.
Some of the text is hard to read at times because of busy colours and shaders.
The music loop is very short and starts to grate after a few repeats. I’d try a less repetitive or less attention-grabbing track, or a longer loop.
With a bit more polish this could go somewhere really nice.
Really solid and nicely polished, with some great details.
My favourite bit was being able to switch it to British English, that gave me a laugh.
Would be handy to have a next-level option instead of jumping back to the menu, and maybe a bit more feedback on the cookie’s state, took me a while to catch the timing.
Everything else was spot on.
Hey everyone.
We’ve just finished the first playable build of PerformMax!

Tomorrow we’ll be spending the day on final polish and last-minute tweaks. Only the two of us have actually played it properly, so if anyone fancies a quick playtest we’d be chuffed to bits. Any feedback on difficulty, enemy behaviour, menus, controls or anything else would be massively useful.
Even if you can’t play it, here’s a full gameplay video: https://youtu.be/unxKx7DfDRc
Buenas, muchas gracias :)
Ye i know :(
I don't know why, when i make the build xr grab interactable stops working, not a single error, just not working.
I was doing the build in different ways, for windows, for android... for more than 7 hours and I couldn't solve it.
That's why I made the trailer, so that at least you could see that it works, and I left the link on github, in case you want to play it from the unity editor. ty for the feedback :)
