You’re taking this too seriously, no. I am not offended at all and I seriously thought it was a remake of the reference material you shared, they sound very similar to me. I do agree about everyone expressing themselves in their own ways, but there are limits to that - the steelpan does feel out of place and I’ve been thinking of another sound to replace it with, perhaps another synth with a similar timbre to it. Take a chill pill, I ain’t got a torch and a pitchfork pointed at you :-)

I did give it a listen and they sounded very similar. It must be the soundfonts in that case, my apologies.

I do want to mention that you were supposed to make an original piece. Motifs used every now and then are okay, but nearly remaking a track wasn’t the idea - rules are rules.

Song is too short, not in tempo, barely anything going on except for the random notes. Try using a metronome for help!

Intro was promising, but the drop was really junky. Too much dissonance, you should stick to a key because otherwise it’s not very pleasant to listen to. I wish it was longer as well. The master is fine, but the mixing can get a few touches here and there. I assume this is a gen 1 song, so I am not going to add that there’s not much going on in terms of varying instruments. Try again, I see the vision. :-)

Real good stuff, I dig this big time. Only complaint I have is that the lead doesn’t really vary or has something to accompany it. I really wish this was longer, I’d play it on repeat for sure! :DDD

I had no clue the overdriven guitar was used in the Pokemon franchise, hell yeah! I really dig this, but maybe repeat some of the leads twice, the switch-ups feel like they happen too quickly. The lead could get some more attention as well, feels a little tad too simple. Everything else is great (Master, panning, etc.), nice work!

Lovely! A bit disappointed from the fact the build-up had percussion that I did not hear stay or progress afterwards - completely disappearing instead. Maybe a simple compressed drumkit to accompany the tune ought to do it. Once more, lovely! Amazing lead!

Hi, since I don’t know where else to say this, here works fine. When submitting my song, I was forced to select both “yes” and “no” for the options of criticism and reading the rules otherwise I couldn’t submit. You might need to fix that :-)

I think it’d be cool to hear music similar to Ibb & Obb, Kettel’s the composer.

Is the forums the only place we can chat through? What about a Discord server?
