❤️❤️❤️

the console looks amazing, even tho hard to wrapped my head around everything that's going on and how to go about. but really cool to navigate, managed to drill something and destroy something with the missile.

will love to see how this develops and becomes a full thing. defo missing some sound to give it even more ambience and blips.

had a nice wee time playing this, even tho I kept insisting that humans shadows move independently lol.

i like the aesthetic of it all, the whole UI and the composers art is funny. I wish I was better at this games.

pretty cool take on rythm games to use classical music!

very fun, a good minigame chaos! I felt like the clumsy helper for sure. i really like how the music gives it a vibe. it's a nice tune.

felt like it could be a game from a nickelodeon cartoon show. :D

very chaotic! got a bit lost on so much information but had fun!

that was fuuuun! really cool using the fishing line as a hookshot just to around the level. also the song is a banger!

lol, felt seen! pretty much sums it up :p

yeah in a way I guess being confused it's part of the experience. its good to know that. also that you didn't felt things were so clear, especially abot the rolls. is defo a good shout for me to be aware and try to improve on. so thanks for saying all that!

you technically shouldn't be allowed to roll the same stat before rolling the others first. defo a bug I will look into.

the choice of stat is mostly about the flavor that you want to put on the story as you get prompted. as i built this with a ttrpg "theatre of the mind" type of idea, you are creating your own story. the terminal gameplay might not make it so clear. but in a way it also relates to the setting.

I think you feeling not rolling fewer dice it's worth it, ends up being your strategy and the story you are constructing, but the idea to break out of the loop is to roll low and get glitches instead of successes. But you don't have to try to break the loop, is all up to you. in the terminal the DC is indeed static because of time and easier to just make it that.

also I guess one thing that might got hidden in the page description, and could help make things clearer, is that I did the game in a webzine type format first https://mama-cailleach.github.io/31st-of-feb-zine, and the terminal is a tool for one type of gameplay. but I tried to expose everything a bit better on the zine (not that it will necessarily make things clearer lol). so a quick one page cheat sheet instructions thing could have been more useful in the itch page.

ahh thanks! also good pointer about making the terminal more terminal like. and aye, heard on the text speed, one of those things since I kinda knew everything that was coming I ended up not thinking much about it.

lol! pretty fuuny! i enjoyed :D. wished there was a way to punch the wall, just to feel something.

i mean, sorry fot the ptsd hehe.
very cool that you picked up on the sfx thing, was a last minute idea so am happy it made sense.

that's fair, appreciate the feedback. something to think about it post jam that can be improved if I go back to this project.

very odd but quite fun is defo high praise!

really really amazing setting, how it is put, the understanding and completing a ritual together.
super cute and I love it!

omg, I really vibed with this. also points for being a pico-8 game! low key wanted to bet on the snails! very cool!!

Is for the Playdate, but if you don't have the console you can download the sdk and use the simulator.
Here is the link - https://play.date/dev/

Then you can just open the .pdx file in the simulator. Let me know if you need anymore info to make it work. happy to help :)

Aahn thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the mood.

I relate with and really nice way of saying that about trying to understand, reach further and doubting yr understand of the controls.

The grind is real lol.

Echoing the other comments here of how it feels this can easily be a bigger more polished game if you you decide to work  on it from here. More levels, features, etc. Was even feeling different drop off points for different items in a later stage.
Glad I wasn't the only one to get out of bounds. It feels nice to be in the vastness of space, but also a little background stars or something could be a nice touch.
Fun game, I had a nice time playing the second time even more.

hehe I'm glad you were okay with the crash XD
Thanks for your reflection, that's really cool! I'm glad you enjoyed it. And also nice to know the extra comments here made it more clear and help not be trapped forever in the loop. Defo something for me to keep in mind if I make something in these lines again of how to incorporate better in game.

This is fun and you got me with a cute frog for sure! I really enjoyed the set up and the after-life frogger ref, that defo made me excited to ascend even more. The sfx in the beggining made me wish for a silly intro scene to go with it that'd show the frog trying to cross the road and getting hit.

Awnn thanks for this comment! It's also really nice to know you found yrself thinking after playing it.

It does feel like a real claw machine which is satisfyingly annoying lol. Also the visuals and the sound are really nice. I found myself just trying to grab a toy that I wanted not necessarily the shinny one which was fun for me.

Thats was cool, nice one! At first I didn't register turning the playdate vertical and that was a cool touch.

Maybe not intentional but you can play it as a descent I guess as a helium baloon that went too far and is trying to get back. I prefered the controls on the right hand, so that worked better for me and didn't really took anything from the game.

Really nice and fun game, I enjoyed it. And the poodle is cute. The crank is sensitive and I'm gald is not just for my playdate, but in a way was kind of fun to have a unplanned fart.
I just kinda wish when you did a full charge boost to the max the poodle would drop a wee poop at the end hehe.

The music use was really great, even if there would be no rocks falling I would still be on edge and more prone to miss the jumps because of it. Makes falling even more dramatic. I also appreciated the eyes pointing the direction you are jumping. And a wee cute blob is appreciated.

Ahhn thanks for the comment, I'm glad to hear! Your conclusion is amazing I love it!

Oh thanks for the feedback, that makes sense. I will update here on the explanation for hopefully clearer instructions.
In the end the game don't really have a point to be missed hehe. I think the main thing was for me to do something to get out of my head.

But aye, thanks for the shout! I haven't had the chance yet, but excited to try out yr game!

Awnn thanks for the comment and for playing!
I didn't even thought about sending to catalog tbh, but been getting some nice reviews. I think once I have time to go back and do some updates I'll try to send it to them!
Lool. Ace of pentacles was in your path to pull on yr first venture, the cards follow their own path and the spirits of rng smiled to ya :)

very very cool tarot set! I used it for this playdate game. thanks so much.
