i wanna read blame! now

running around feels disconnected from the fight, feels like two different games. removing the lap section doesnt really change too much from the overall gameplay.

the random buffs and debuffs dont give the player any real choice or agency, since it kind of just happens and you dont really get to pick . theres no impact on what the plays gonna do, the buffs just happen to them.

so the only real gameplay is fighting the knight, which is kind of nonfunctional when the boss shoves you against a wall and locks your movement, and without any visual attack indicator or feedback.

theres something here!!! i think its a really cool idea.

it would be nice if the turrets fired faster (so like the overall loop is faster), even if they were weaker in damage to compensate, that way it can feel like you're actually building a beat. this feels like the kind of game that you could unironically jam to while playing. the issue is i think the tempos just too slow to actually sound like music.

I think that playing back the sequence is a cool idea, its difficult to actually perform though, especially if you want to look at the enemies that are on their way. Multi-tasking that is pretty tough, and whenever I play music I can only really multi-task like that when its a song ive memorized. Maybe if the towers attacked automatically to the beat, it would lessen that mental strain and also make the game easier to play, and then the focus could be more on the music and the towers, rather than timing.

A friend of mine suggested making the enemies spawn in waves too, at the start of every loop rather than continuous. Also was concerned that there was really only one effective combo of turrets.

would be interested in seeing where you take this in the future, good luck, and dont feel like you need to implement any of those suggestions. seriously no pressure.

The elemental looping feels pretty tacked on. when the player doesnt actively have control over which element theyre choosing, it might as well just be randomized, since they cant think about using it effectively. The row-placement loop and elemental loop give the player very little agency, and while the row swapper (unique mechanic) might alleviate that, it still feels like it is mostly out of the player's control.

I think that by making the rowswapper, the elements, and the placeable row, all go through their own loops, the overall game feels confused, and it feels as though you weren't confident in any singular looping mechanic.

im pretty sure the moral of the story actually is that life gets worse when you stop scrolling the internet for horse pictures

Had issues starting the game, a little terminal popped up and then it closed.
Nothing hidden in task manager or anything like that, even ran as administrator.
I did make sure to unzip and I am on w11

pretty enjoyable but i wish that there was indicator for how far youre going to go. sometimes my brain would freeze up and i couldnt properly gauge where i was gonna land fast enough. either an indicator or even just having the tiles be alternating colors (so you can tell if youd need an even or an odd to jump it) would probably be helpful.

it was pretty cool that you could actually control what you wanted to use, since ive seen the same random weapons thing with the dice but its out of your control for what you get.

but often times the game would start shooting in the opposite direction, and sometimes my dice got stuck at an angle while rolling and not flat, and it would only let me shoot when i was flat on the ground, so i was a little boned a few times bc of it.

some of these weapons, like the deagle, dont feel that good to use at all. it doesnt feel like theres much feedback on anything in the game.

i found a way to cheat death in this game and got negative health

but then i got swarmed by (literally) 50 spider dice and couldn't move lol
