Update:
All the voice acting has been recorded, treated and implemented, and I’m now entering the playtests phase, asking people around me to test the game and either reporting their issues/comments, either observing them playing and taking notes etc.
The first playtest made me aware of a few adjustments already, which I’ll correct very soon.
Exciting!!! 😃
Update:
The translation has been done using AI (the only thing I used AI for), and the game will be available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Polish, Turkish, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Czech and Hungarian.
It’s been implemented in the game and I’m now implementing the different things happening after each step of the scenario, while making minor improvements here and there in the game. 😊
thanks for the encouragements! :))
i will use AI for the translation (only), I think it’ll do a good enough job for this. the voice acting will only be in english, my friend who will do it is french and could do it in french as well, but i will keep things simple. will make sure to include portuguese in the list of languages! :))
Hello hello! 😊
Working on a short exploration game called “Uncle Otto’s Mansion”, it’s story-oriented and very simple.
It’s my first ever game, I only started the gamedev journey in January this year and originally just wanted to write simple scripts by myself as part of my learning process, like opening doors, collecting items etc… I used the “Horror mansion” asset by Synty because I previously bought it in a bundle and thought it would be more pleasant to try and do this in a nice looking environment, and also to learn how to manipulate assets.
When I finally managed to make these simple scripts work, I was so amazed, and this asset was so inspiring, that ideas ran through my mind, I came up with ideas for a scenario, and since I managed to make it so far, I decided to make a complete game - Keeping it simple, but still a fully finished game, so I could continue to learn on the way.
Done:
Putting a lot of heart into this first project at the moment, while finding a reasonable balance between it being free, a way to learn, my very limited skills as a beginner and making something good enough to use as a portfolio for whatever comes next.
Very excited to release it, and will keep this page updated! :))
