Simple, responsive gameplay. The grappling hook/web mechanic pretty much worked perfectly. It was pretty easy and I think I could go on for a long time until I either am bored or fatigued.

Use of limitation and the theme was pretty much spot on.

The only negative feedback I have is that the background music is a little out of place. Maybe something more dire and dangerous sounding? I mean, since you're essentially escaping a raging fire.

Oh and that fire... is fire. sorry

I really enjoyed this word-puzzle game. It was straightforward and easy to grasp, and once I figured out how it worked(which didn't take very long)I immediately got into a nice flow state.

My only little bit of advice would be to let the player exit the game to the main menu and exit the game totally. You could even use your in-game UI(the "X" on the web browser)by allowing the player to click on it and choose to resume or exit. Not a deal breaker, though- it is a game jam after all.

Overall, I could see myself playing for a long time, especially if there were more game modes.

Edit: I do see the option to quit if you die, so in that regard you did well!

Simple design, but it works! I guess this would be a Donut Defense game, huh?

Didn't really see any problems with the game, except that you can score multiple points if you hit dead enemies over and over with the web.

Overall, it was some easy fun!

I got hit in the feels.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. The art style was clean, the instructions clear, and the execution of the gameplay loop was easy to understand. The use of the limitation was good(much better than mine, lol).

Still waiting to  see what it looks line inside a blackhole!

Anyway, thanks for crafting this bittersweet story!

Thanks for playing!

Regarding the limitation, I had to pivot during development to a normal platformer. Initially I was going to have movement basically linked to a grappling hook, but I couldn't get it to work so I went with the "floor is lava" interpretation. Essentially, there is ground, but... you'll die if you walk on it.

Super simple but a lot of fun to play. Wish I could've upgraded more, but I think I maxed out shooting speed and maybe even damage.

Especially enjoyed the background music.

Good work!

Cute game. Love the ability to customize the character, a very nice touch.

Very easy and relaxing game to play. I got up to 79 babies saved.

Super satisfying once you get a hang of the controls and everything. I was starting to outpace the sewer beast to the point that it wasn't even on screen anymore.

Tip: I would reword "pressing the spacebar to Jump" to "hold the spacebar to jump", unless you aren't supposed to be able to hold it- which I was. When I started holding it down, I started going fast.

Good game and good job ya'll!

Played for roughly 30 minutes. I had fun once I grasped how jumping from web to web worked.

Music was appropriate and not too overbearing. It fit the theme and aesthetic.

The menu was really well done. I loved the game within a game concept. Always a big fan of that when it's well done.

I didn't like how janky it was to hit the buttons. Sometimes I would have the reticle aimed in the middle of it and it wouldn't register. Still, it did work sometimes.

Enjoyed it, though I didn't finish all the way through.

Overall I liked the concept. Pretty original and fits the limitation in a creative manner. Spent 40 minutes playing it, actually.

I think my own(minor)thing I wish could be changed/tweaked would be the pins. I wish the ball would ignore collision with them for a smoother roll.

Spent way more time on it than I thought I would!

Thank you! Yeah, I'm sad that it's short as well. I had planned for a boss fight and some cutscenes, but I had to cut them out because I ran out of time. xD I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was hoping the difficulty wasn't too hard.

Very well made. Swinging felt pretty good, even if it was pretty hard to control.

Got up to around 100, once. That really low terrain piece that is generated every so often is nearly impossible to get past!

I could see myself playing more because I do enjoy difficult games.

Great work!

Pretty easy to understand. Very simple, straightforward, and fun.

Theme was good and use of limitation was also fine.

The one thing I didn't like was the random shooting length. I don't mind a little variation in trajectory that I can account for, but I would have been much more pleased if the web shots came out in a straight line so I can rely on my skill and control where I shoot.

Otherwise, good job!

Atmosphere was on point. I like how the game starts with the computer booting up noise.

I loved that the GUI was interactable and part of the game. It was also very clean.

All the sound effects were really awesome, too.

The splash art and logo scenes were top notch.

Gameplay wise, it was a little unclear as to how to progress, but then again, it's a puzzle game right? So I think it's fair game.  It wasn't really that hard anyway, so it didn't take long for me to figure it out. I can see how it can progressively get harder and harder with obscure hacking methods appearing eventually.

I think it has a lot of potential. Looking forward to what you do in the future!

By the way, thanks for playing my game!

Thank you for your honest feedback! I completely agree with your assessment of the current visuals- I ran out of time and had to crunch. I threw some things together, like the BGs, that I purchased as placeholder art more or less. I fully intend on going back and replacing all of it, as well as updating the GUI and adding more routes, characters, etc.

Once again, thank you for the comment! It means a lot to me since this is my first time putting myself and a game out there publicly. <3

Thank you for playing and giving me some feedback! I appreciate it. ;D OH and there WILL be more routes and content coming soon. :x

very cute and charming!
