Baseball Super Quiz Lite Edition is a small game we made to showcase my concept, a quiz that uses the rules of Baseball.
It runs in HTML5 and Windows. On Windows, you can create your own questions and use them in the game. All it takes is creating a .txt file then selecting it in the game. It can be played locally, taking turns, as a party game or as a study game similar to flashcards.
We've included questions on Baseball, Movies, Jazz, and General Knowledge, so you can start playing immediately!
This is a game with quite a bit of history. I was an high school teacher in 1986 and I designed this game to be used by students as a fun way to review material. The first version was played pen and paper style, on the whiteboard. Then, I went and built a DOS version (it still works on DOSBox!). It sold fairly well in Quebec for the time. It was among the first educational games ever made, and probably one of the first if not the first one created in Quebec. Baseball Super Quiz Lite Edition is essentially a remake of this DOS Game.
This is what it looked like in 1986:
I want to make a new version with better graphics and a lot of features like skins, online play and more strategic options like being able to steal a base, but app development is considerably more complex and expensive nowadays. Baseball Super Quiz Lite Edition is a small first step toward getting visibility and securing some funding.
My dream is for classrooms to one day use this game to promote active learning through play.
I think the concept has a lot of potential as a party game and classroom activity.
