For things like this, the gaming media needs to keep their mouths shut. We all know what happens when a certain company finds out about these fan remakes, see AM2R, the NES Metroid remake project, or the ZeldaVR project on Oculus as prime examples. The moment main stream media published an article, the project owners got the “cease and desist” nasty-gram from the lawyers. If these people really cared about gaming and supporting the industry, they would not write such articles. But these “I just sell my stuff to any news outlet that pays” people don’t care that this will get shutdown the moment they sell their article to someone, they just want the $$$. This is why I refuse to support the gaming journalism community anymore, they don’t really care about gaming, just milking us for ad revenue no matter the cost.
